Panthers trio Trent Waterhouse, Luke Lewis and Joel Clinton have all been named to make their Australian debuts in the Kangaroos’ clash with a French XIII this weekend.

Waterhouse will start in the second row on Saturday at Carcassonne while Lewis will play wing.

Clinton has been named on the interchange bench.

Fellow Panther Craig Gower has an opportunity to impress after being named as the starting halfback.

Brett Kimmorley, who started ahead of Gower in the Test loss to New Zealand last weekend, is on the bench.

Robbie Kearns will lead the side with regular skipper Darren Lockyer resting after being concussed against the Kiwis.

Australia : Anthony Minichiello, Luke Lewis, Shannon Hegarty, Michael De Vere, Matt Sing, Craig Wing, Craig Gower, Petero Civoniceva, Michael Crocker, Robbie Kearns (c), Willie Mason, Trent Waterhouse, Phil Bailey. Reserves: Joel Clinton, Shane Webke, Richard Villasanti, Brett Kimmorley.

A loss buy anything less than 30 points will be seen as a massive victory for the French, I think that if they can hold Australia out for 10 or 15mins they may get closer as jet lag will play a big part in the second half.
