If this spud wasn’t a Godolphin horse I doubt it would even be there. Land of Plenty would be a heck of a better chance and same with Ringerdingding
What are you on about??? Hawkshot isn’t a Godilphin horse.

You been out on the sun too long Debbie???

It’s a horse from a major stable ex Weir (sorry got the new stable mixed up, thought it went to Godolphin, went to
Hayes and Daberning) who has Buckley’s chance. Reminds me of the dumb fruitcakes that pick horses out of a hat rather than picking horses that actually would be competitive. Both Ringerdingding and Land of Plenty I’d be absolutely certain would be a lot more likely to trouble the ones on the market. Better for me though as I have a fair whack on Alizee in early markets. I’ll be saving on HC on the day though.

If they leave hawkshot alone in front he can run 3rd behind happy clapper and whoever gets the best run out of alizee, hartnell and mystic journey.

Land of plenty and ringerdingding would've been no chance.

And say what you want about the mile, it gives up and comers mystic journey and alizee a chance to show their stuff against proven hard heads hartnell and the clapper.

Unless one of the bolted gets needles up deluxe, it should be an interesting last 600m

Happy clapper for me. His two performances this Autumn have been awesome. None of the others could get near winx over 1600m imo

I'm just happy they have picked more scrubs so my Alizee bet is looking better by the day, mind you knowing me not only will it lose to some scrubber, I'd blow the winnings on some Gosford maiden or something!

Yesterday you were blowing up deluxe at who got the wildcards, now you don’t care. Settle Debbie settle.

I’m first and foremost a fan of the sport- I want the best horses in a race like this. Land of Plenty especially would be better over this distance and would be a good blowout chance. Instead they pick a horse who has Buckley’s chance of winning or going near Alizee or Mystic Journey. For my bet I’m happy, for the spectacle not so much.

You are all over the place like a mad woman’s shit, I just think you need to calm down.

I have no problem with who got the wildcards, my problem is with the 3 or 4 Plodders who will be going backwards at a rate of knots on the turn. Luck in running will be crucial. That’s why Hawkshot isn’t the worst chance in this.

If this was at Caulfield or the Valley I reckon Hawkshot would be a massive top 3 chance. Flemington won’t help him but if he gets a soft draw he won’t disgrace himself.

I really couldn’t care too much for the race TBH... good luck to all the connections of the roughies who managed to get a start.

Shocking news today about Tye Angland, looks like he’ll never walk again.

Simply terrible.

I really feel for Angland family and liked him as a jockey. I hope they get all the support they are going to need.

It really is such a tough gig.

I finished high school in Perth near the tracks and grew up with apprentice jockeys and the stories you hear are rough.

Just the wasting for weight is hard enough.

I had a good bloke in my class get his head galloped on, deaf, never right again.

And then freak things happen like having your jaw blown clean off your head when your stirrup gets struck by lightning.

My point is, it’s a tough job, and unless you’re in the top 15%, it doesn’t pay that great either.

Let’s keep that in mind when they’re coming back into the mounting yard and might not have taken the gap you spotted from the bar.

Except Williams. He’s on his own.

Being a Jockey is the most dangerous job in the world, they deserve everything they earn.

Except Williams f**k that guy.

Yeh shocking news about Tye, was lucky enough to meet him a couple of times and he is a really down to earth dude and a real family man.

Sainter you are 100% right...all Jockeys put their health at risk every single day and sure the top city jocks make good coin but the vast majority are just battlers who do it just to put food on the table.

Shit like this can happen in an instant and change their lives forever. It’s f**ked up.

Sad for Tye, best wishes to his family at this time.

Great cards this weekend, the Newmarket Handicap down the straight is always one of my top few races although picking a winner is a lottery. Can Osbourne finally nail that covered group 1 or will a rough come through?
