Probably better it got some kilometres going by now & headed north or something ,the Ramsden is a low easy-kill target. Would qualify for the Cup easily even if it didn’t run in it.

Been on a cruise since Friday with no internet.
Only heard the Holland news this morning and it absolutely flattened me. Gut wrenching, young man with a young family just trying to put food on the table. RIP Dean.

They are small in stature but jockeys are some of the toughest merkins you will find.

It’s a beast… that first up run it really had no right to win. I was on it and honestly thought Right You Are was going to go straight past it in the straight and it would have run a nice pipe opening second… but it just kept kicking and ended up winning comfortably.

Gai has been known to burn out a horse or two, maybe the slow approach with this fella isn’t the worst thing in the world.

The final edition of the Sportsman going to print on 5/5/23.

Lucky I’ll still have stacks of tear-stained Winning Posts to start the fire come the winter months.

Sportsman was always good to blackbook a few if you could t watch the trials.

I listen to the Vince Acardi and Race Track Ralphy podcast (post race wrap) and have been thinking of springing for the mid-week subscription.

Any other recommendations? How do you scaly rapscallions get the inside word, the skinny, the low-down?
