Kurt Wrigley is one (at Souffs), and he was with us back in the Brown days as an assistant. Have to wonder though, what would compel someone to leave a strong, successful club to take the same position with a weak, poor club? Don't see it happening
Change of scenery...weird as it sounds to Dragons fans, most potential coaches find that they learn best from having a large variety of coaching experiences from different systems, rather than sticking with one system their entire careers. Shocking, right?! (Although I guess he's already seen enough of our system).
The other advantage would be putting himself on the map...I mean, how does this look for his resume:
2014 - Mary attacking coach = horrible, disjointed attack with terrible stats
2015 - Mary coach, Millward attacking coach - horrible, disjointed attack with small flashes of structure and slightly improved overall performance
2016 - Mary coach, Wrigley attacking coach - dramatic improval of team performance on the back of crisp, clever/creative attacking structure that takes the Dragons deep into the finals, only to be knocked out by a dodgey refs call in the prelim
2017 - Mary coach, Wrigley attacking coach - Dragons undefeated premiers after our flawless attack picks apart the most stubborn defense in the league all season, averaging 42 points a game.
2018 - After Hasler and Bellamy are sacked for leading their teams to be joint wooden spooners 2 years running, Storm and Dogs are at war over the signature of Supercoach-in-waiting, Kurt Wrigley...
In conclusion, why would he not come here?!?!
