This is about how expensive is it to go the football nowadays. For individuals and for families, in the country and in the city!

Not just the ticket price but also food and drink prices. Do you have any tricks to bring down costs?

Are you well enough off so it is a non issue? Do you struggle to go but manage to go to a few anyway? Or, have you just given up going because it is simply too darn expensive?

Poll results and views will be aired on A View From The Hill this Saturday, join Rob Corra and the team from 11:00 AM (AEST). Also available for a listen afterwards. Link: http://www.leagueunlimited.com/radio

Used to go to Allianz every couple weekends to see the Roosters play whenever the Bunnies were out of town (as i live 10 minutes from there) and used to use my footy player card to get in for free.

This year as i have finished playing i still decided to go, but $25 for a ga concession card? Aren't they about $15-17 at Souths games? Seriously...

I got my season ticket for about $190, for 12 home games thats less than $16/game.

I usually buy about 5 beers per game, approx $35 and usually buy some food beforehand at the stadium $10.

So all up about $60 per game which in my opinion is pretty good bargain!

Good thing I don't drink because what Stadiums Queensland charge is a joke, $6.80 for a cup of water (XXXX Gold)

It is ridiculously expensive. $7.50 for a 600ml bottle of Coke?!?

I just buy one from Woolies for $3.00 before the game and smuggle it in. I can't imagine how families manage to make it to games.

Being willing to pay exorbitant prices doesn't make you a "true fan", it makes you an exploitable fool.

Season tickets are reasonable price but on gate prices are over priced. Should be $15 behind sticks, $25 decent seats.

$7.50 for a coke? I thought the $4 for a water was bad.

Back when I was growing up (90s) it use to be U/12s get in free I'm pretty sure.. at least at WIN stadium.. Ive always played junior footy or had access to a family friend who was a referee, so had the season passes too. That use to make it pretty affordable for our family to go to the footy.

Food at the ground shouldnt be an issue for families.. make some sandwiches before the game and bring some pop-tops.. pretty sure its just commercial food that isnt allowed in the ground.

Season tickets seem to be pretty good value but casual attendees (and visiting fans) are being rorted.
A casual fan cannot get in the door for under $30 at Broncos or Titans games.
eg
Broncs cheapest adult ticket $32 plus service/delivery fees taking it up to around $38
Titans cheapest adult ticket $30 plus service/delivery fees taking it up to around $36

A traditional family of 2 adults and 2 kids will part with over $80 to get in the door at either ground.
The food and drink options are not cheap either.

Get a season membership and eat before the game.

Simples.

Precisely .
I go to games and don't spend a cent.
I drive so don't bother drinking and eat prior.
Not being a tight arse just couldn't be bothered lining up for inferior beer.
