Train to Homebush costs next to nothing, tickets cost next to nothing, bring food from home. And don't buy beer it's two hours ffs

Costs less than $50 for the whole day. Not expensive at all.

So your single I take it?

I was the same back in the day. Sadly things change.

We need regulars to EVERY game. It won't happen if things stay this way

One of the things I feed back to the NRL was that I think public transport should be included in the cost of every ticket. There must be some bargaining power that would make it cost effective if that cost was spread over all tickets sold.

Obviously the other hidden cost for presale tickets is the fee ticketek and the like charge on top of the ticket price.

Remove these, and you really push down the price of the day.

If we take Souths vs Raiders at ANZ Stadium. If you were coming from the South-West in the Macarthur Area say, it's $13.50 return on the train. Then it ranges from $40 for Cat 1 tickets to $25 for General Admission.

$25 for GA at ANZ is too much. They barely fill it. Either it's too expensive or people don't care. But it should be $10 for ANZ GA.

Ah right sorry, forgot I'm a student so that adds like another $6 onto the travel costs for full paying adults.

And I agree, $25 is a bit steep for rubbish seats. More clubs need to do those 3 game passes and other things like that..

No, my girlfriend and I live together but she doesn't watch footy really. We go to every Sydney FC game together though.

I've been going to Souths games with my grandfather since I was 10 (the year before we got kicked out of the comp). I guess since I'm a student and he's a senior its not as bad for us! :)

But yes to be fair, the non-souths games I go to with friends I'll get a few beers but that's more for the social side of things than anything. If I'm really focused on a game (this only happens with Souths though) I don't need food or drink. But maybe that's just me.

Who's going to pay the players big salaries?

If they made attending games more affordable, more people would do so and they wouldn't lose money out of it. Especially if they managed to rebuild the culture of going to the footy being a regular event for families.

heard a word which sounded like skeppy ...
was unaware that Rob was Kiwi or a fan of old Australian TV shows about a boy and his native animal
