Yeeehhaaa you picked it. Pick your prize up Friday night at the leagues club celebrations.

>>>>>>>>>>

HALFBACK Brett Kimmorley - the player savaged for his Test performance against New Zealand - was yesterday voted Australia's best player on the history-making Kangaroo tour of Great Britain and France.

Coach Chris Anderson yesterday gave his awards for the tour to The Daily Telegraph, including naming Kimmorley the finest performer of his 23-man squad which won the Test series against Great Britain 3-0 and also defeated Wales, England A and a French Selection XIII during the past seven weeks.

Most underrated player Michael De Vere: "He is a quiet, unassuming bloke - but he just goes about being a professional," Anderson said.

"He scored the vital try in the third Test and can now see himself as a bloke that doesn't just defend but one who can also make an impact in a game."

Under rated by who? Anderson himself? Why else wouldnt he pick him?

As I shake my head in disbelief that I missed that one, I now find myself laughing at the stupidity of that "award".
Surely the most underated was Luke Lewis. The waterboy. Orange peeler. Bag carrier.

While I note Anderson's hilarious hypocrisy with the De vere comments it comes as no surprise to me that Anderson picked the tour's best player as the tour's best player.

News flash, he's our best player too, and the one who is going to deliver us a premiership

In fairness, it wasn't only Anderson who picked Kimmorley. The Brits named him man of the series.

The irony is that Kimmorley may be the only thing that save Andersons arse, no wonder he is giving him awards.

If it was not for Noddy, we would not have won the Ashes and Anderson would have definately been shown the door.

He (Anderson) still may be shown the door, due to his blatent disregard for the selectors, however he will also be rememmbered for his 3 nil witewash, the first one is some time.

i must have been watching a diffrent series then because if darren lockyer
wasnt by far and away our player of the series i will turn it up, and to top it off lockyer was named the golden boot winner for this year. ahh well suppose ando had to do something for his job at cronulla and try and keep it........... once again the politics of our game need looking at..........

The vote has all the impartiality of an election in a South American dictatorship.

Athough, I guess both Lockyer and Kimmorley were close to the best players on tour.

Not quite right Twizzle - if Kimmorely hadn't played well we would have lost the ashes. Could have had Gower at half, Lockyer at 5/8, Mini at full-back (just for example, lots of other arrangements) and we still would have won - BK wasn't essential.

In a CA-coached team BK HAS to tbe the best player on the field. Everything revolves around him. If he has an ordinary game then the team is up the creek. But full marks to BK he stepped up to the plate.

I agree with Mafia. When Lockyer injected himself into the game (gotta wonder whether that was in the GAME PLAN - if he was a Sharks player he'd be dropped next week) the team really lifted. He was less conspicuous than BK but when he's in there everything changes.

Nobody else find it a bit weird that when it was a tough kick, the one pointer that is, that the ball was handed to a professional to take.
Even though he was rushed by the defense & got a bad pass, he still was able to make the break, involved himself 3 times, & threw the money ball.
Why didn't lockyer take the shot in the previous game?
Because andersons instructions are for Kimmorley to take the easy ones.
Great kick by Kimmorley that added to his man of the match performance.
But that does that mena a professional 1 point exponent has a bit of shine taken off his game?
Yes it does.

You missed the point Millers (3 schooners thanks), lockyer was going to take the kick. He got a bad pass & was rushed so he ran instead. it was a 45m attempt. It turned into "that" try.
So why does Kimmorley only take the easy(close to the line) ones?
The reason actually does make some sense, but, with the Kimmorley/Anderson relationship & the fact that Anderson wants Kimmorley to dominate his own team, I find it stinks.
Lockyer has got one of the sweetest kicks in the game & can apparently land a field goal from 60 metres at training.

If it's Wednesday, I'm in big trouble.
