Iam not sure about that. Remember against Manly he was passing, kicked a bomb that led to a try and that was definately his game of the year. But he lacked a lot of confidence this year and I believe was burdened with the captaincy. His my first choice at lock anyday.

The game that sticks in my mind is when PJ was a late inclusion at halfback for a flu ridden JT and smashed the Dragons in Wllongong in 2001. From memory he scored a sizzling try from dummy half in that game, which proves that when he plays at 7 he plays a lot of dummy half as Andrew Johns does for the Knights on occasions.

what about the try he scored against the Storm where he scooted from dummy half and ran 60 metres and collided into the the goal post and still managed to plant the ball down.

pure phucken orgasim!!! :D

PJ is dynamic at Hooker or off the bench to play hooker. But at Halfback i have my doubts his running game is excellent but its his passing and kicking game and leading the team around the field that worries me.

Thats where Morris and Marsh will work together well and why I believe that Morris is more likely to play at half.....

One thing about PJ though on that score Jake, is that he will be confident enough to actually get in there, try and organise and tell huis teammates what and where to go, unlike Mick Witt who never seemed to be willing to do that

Atleast Marsh is a huge upgrade from Witt. I still feel we need more options for play makers. A interchange hooker off the bench, MAYBE Joel Reddy at fullback, Mateo at lock and so on.

Bonus question: Who partnered Marsh in the halves for the 2000 finals campaign?

Didnt Andrew Ryan slot in at 5/8 on one occasion, I'm sure of it?

in the Rnd 26 win over the Dragons, Wagon was lock and Ryan was 5/8... they switched for the finals series... maybe Smith was successfully using the 2 lock strategy long before anyone noticed?

What exactly is the problem with saying that PJ will be our halfback? :? I can see the problem with "big and ugly" and its results from this year but how PJ being talked up as our half compares...... :?:

the problem lies in letting other clubs know about the plan so early on....if having PJ at halfback is indeed the plan

you don't want to put to much pressure on him (for obvious reasons) or make so that clubs know early and and plan on targeting him.....i think Canterbury obviously targeted our forwards in Round 1 last year after what Smithy went around saying, so why wouldn't they or someone else target poor old PJ straight away too......its just a matter of playing cat and mouse for a while

i mean it seems like there are so many options and we allkeep guessing, so make the clubs keep guessing too??? thats my problem.....plain and simple and i would have thoght it was obvious??????????????

and eelevation.....it was not one passing comment, both BS and DF have made at least two comments or references to PJ playing halfback - each - since he singed with us....i would hardly call that a "singular, passing comment"........again, simple....???

What about keeping our own players guessing.

A common criticism of Brian Smith is all the games he plays....and that his players don't know what position they'll be playing and that they have no certainty, so here is a case in point where it appears on the surface certainty is being provided and its still not good enough

At the end of the day does it really matter!!!...really does it???...the Dogs were always going to smash us that night not only didn't we turn up physically but we weren't there mentally either.

our coach/CEO makes a passing comment or several in October/November and it affects our game plan come March????.

I like you True, I really do you wear your heart on your sleeve and your obviously very pasionate but I've come to 2 conclusions about your behaviour latelely,

1] your either suffering from severe paranoia

2] or suffering from severe nit picking.

It's late October early November! Nathen Brown, Steve Folks, Wayne Bennett or Tim Sheens ain't gonna give a shitt what our halfback plans are, when they're more worried about their backyard.

peace!

I dont mind having a discussion with True and he seems quite dedicated seeing as you live in rural Australia. But that night it didnt matter who they were versing they would have put 20-40points on them. We were weaker than them in every section of the field. Halves, Backs and especially forwards.
