Guess all the talk about tuiaki to parra is starting to sound true... From the telegraph

PARRAMATTA have emerged as a possible
saviour for blockbusting winger Taniela
Tuiaki, whose future is still clouded by a
serious ankle injury he suffered almost one
year ago. Tigers insiders have told us there's no chance
the club will extend Tuiaki's contract, which
expires in a few months. Sidelined since round
24 last season, the Tongan powerhouse is
desperately trying to return to the field to prove
his fitness to other clubs in the market for wingers next year. Still yet to offer Eric Grothe a new deal,
Parramatta could fall into that category. We
can reveal at least one Eels board member has
been keeping tabs on Tuiaki's recovery,
speaking to the 28-year-old on the phone
regularly over the past few months. "Guru [Grothe] would be the priority to keep
because he's part of the fabric, but if that
doesn't happen we'd take a closer look at
Tuiaki," a Parramatta insider said. As for Tuiaki's comeback date, we're receiving
mixed messages. The winger himself has been
telling friends he could return in as little as four
weeks after hitting full pace at training
recently. Some at the Tigers, however, privately doubt
he'll return in 2010 - let alone regain his
reputation as one of the game's most feared
ball-runners.

With someone his size, an injury like this requires the most professional management possible. If the physios/trainers bring him back even a week early to training on his ankle, it can set him back even further, because it could end up aggravating the almost healed area, thus preventing it to continue healing.

Which is exactly what I think has happened here. I think he may have been brought back to training a few weeks early.

Hmm mixed messages here, they dont seem to say he will never play again, just maybe not as good as he used to.. NEWS FLASH! Tnt half fit is better than Fitz & brown fully fit. They should at least wait till he plays some games before writing him off, he has improved massively in a few months so why not wait a few mmore

Because his manager is trying to secure him a deal now.

This is just a Massoud piece where he gets his facts from internet forum speculation in the great tradition of Bourbon Beccy Wilson

Thats right--his manager is doing the right thing and getting his name out their in the market place. The telecrap will print anything their dosnt have to be any substance or truth.

From the clubs point of view they are in a real hard place, do they take a punt on a player who probably will never reach the same level but has huge appeal with the fan base, or do they direct the money towards another player. Iam glad Iam not making the call
