I'll be going to Bali next May for a wedding, and am planning to wrap a 5 day holiday around it. Looks like I'll be staying in Jimbaran Bay.

I haven't been to Bali too :sarcasm:. Anyone have any recommendations for things to do or see, or things to avoid?
I'm a "mature" guy (read old bastard), and will be there with my equally mature partner (female )
We usually read up on places via Lonely Planet, but I'm open to "insider information" :lol:.

Can still bring your liquid acid back in a visine bottle though, so it's not a total loss.

Just back from Bali. Apart from the Bukit peninsula where the surf is I dont rate it at all.

All the middle aged women i work with rave about it and go back nearly every year.
Dirt cheap is the big selling point apparently.
Like Byron Bay, but full of exotic stuff and a quarter the price.

Bali is a bogan destination and Phuket isn't far behind.
Nothing like traveling a few thousand kilometers to drink in a bar with people from Blacktown or Mount Druitt.

I'm going because it's friends' wedding.

Ubud I liked. Monkeys are the funniest sumnabeeches on the planet. If I smoked pot I'd never leave there. Just make sure you keep things within reach.

Waterbom is a bit of fun. Plus there's heaps of good snorkelling/scuba diving places.
