The Tigers handed out an 9-try thrashing to the hapless Dogs on Saturday afternoon in Gosford.
At half time the Tigers led by only 12-4 having let the Dogs back into the game. The second half was all one-way - over the Dogs try line.
Greally scored a great, solo, length of the field, try to start the scoring. Ben Carney scored the first of his two tries from a Robbie Farah kick that Kaufusi made a mess off. Bens second came shortly after half time when he crashed through the defence to score in the corner.
Ben Carney may have been relieved of the kicking duties but he sure knows how to finish a try. Brett Kelly was brilliant with the boot, kicking 7 from 8. Henderson scored a nice try after some tremendous work by Rhino Heighington, who is playing good football prompting some fans to call for his recall to first grade.
A Henderson kick put Hession over before Robbie Farah made a wonderful break up the centre off the field and in the next set Hession got his double.
Tries 7 and 8 were a brace to Jamie Small - were Tim and Royce watching? How long now before Jamie finally gets his just reward and a chance in first grade. Jamie crashed over on both occasions, the second a beauty from about 20 metres out. This guy is unstoppable.
The final try came after the bell. With the Tigers defending but desperate to reach 50, John Wilson picked up an intercept to run the the length of the field. Seemingly at the behest of Jeff Lima, Rhino stepped up to take the conversion and slotted it over. What depth of goal-kicking! Who could forget Jeffs conversion into the wind from the touchline earlier in the season. Now Rhino gets in on the act.
The felling of Robbie in back play was a disgrace and the Dogs player was sent off. Robbie was helped from the field but was at least walking.
Jermaine Albert - after another 3-try haul in Flegg - made his debut in the last 10 minutes. Congratulations to Jermaine who scored 3 the week before as well. Another young star to watch.
Balmains best. Hard to pick three players but without doubt, as ever, Jamie Small, Jeff Lima and Robbie Farah. OK honourable mention to Rhino.
Nick Graham looked good at times but you have to wonder if his days in first grade are now numbered. The same might go for John Wilson.
A great all round performance and revenge for the loss to the Dogs two weeks ago. The boys are back to their best.
Flegg won 28-20. What a great day!
