Carry over points decay, like a radioactive isotope. Roosters adversity points multiply, like bacteria.Roosters adversity is diametrically opposed to carry-over points.
But the adversity lives on while the carry overs are gone.
I think it has.Well the one thing I've got from this thread is
retirement hasn't increased Slater's popularity
in the least.
The guy's a deadshit, I guess some players were headhunters back then and saw nothing wrong with it.It still amazes me how a player does that and then looks at the ref with that "i can't believe you're sending off" face... hopoate WTF did you think they would do?, you almost took his head off
Lol, tbf an unprovoked intentional dog shot should see you sit out the rest of the season with reduced pay. Club should be able to renegotiate your contract too.Barnett facing 16 weeks so they say.
I also heard they don't have running water or electricity and the doctor treats everything with leaches. And the 37000 odd people don't weekends being the bush and all.Probably hasn't had scans yet, Bathurst being a country town and all and places that do this no doubt being closed on the weekend. You might remember when Trent Merrin dislocated his finger up there in the warm up he had to travel to Orange to get it put back in.
hey man, we can't all live in PENRITHI also heard they don't have running water or electricity and the doctor treats everything with leaches. And the 37000 odd people don't weekends being the bush and all.
I'm pretty sure a 148 bed hospital has an x ray machine.
Why should the club be able to renegotiate the contract?Lol, tbf an unprovoked intentional dog shot should see you sit out the rest of the season with reduced pay. Club should be able to renegotiate your contract too.
Should’ve been 5 shillings IMO.Do people think incidents from 20 years ago are in anyway a precedent for this??
What about the 4 games and three shillings fine given to the guy who went high on Dally Messenger in 1908?
Simple Jack snotted five random blokes and didn't go to prison. Some one said earlier he was bracing for impact - don't buy it. Had plenty of time to change / stop.
What would he be up for if it happened 100 mtrs away in the street? A stint behind bars?
He cocks his elbow at the last minute - it’s entirely intentional, the argument they’re using (or have been given by the lawyer) about bracing and pushing away is utter bollocks. Some one said earlier he was bracing for impact - don't buy it. Had plenty of time to change / stop.

Unfortunately, I’ve had a couple of not too dis-similar brain snaps on the field, so I get it, and I get why he’d be trying to say it’s an accident, but he knows he just lost the plot for a second. I played prop and as a youngster, thought I needed to be ‘the enforcer’ on our team, and when you go into a game with that sort of mentality, wanting to hurt then opposition, convincing yourself you hate them for that 80 mins, wanting to show your team ‘you’re the man’, sometimes you can get lost in the moment, and without really thinking about it, do something out of character, cheap, dirty. A big part of it is an ego thing - wanting to be the big man, and certain supplements certainly don’t help either, getting the heart rate pumping, the adrenaline pumping.
I have absolutely no doubt he didn’t start the game thinking he was going to do something like that, it wasn’t pre-meditated, right up to probably 2 seconds before, I don’t think he had intentions of doing something so stupid, but at that last moment, when he’s seen him coming into close contact, without thinking, instead of trying to avoid contact, he’s just smashed him in the head - it is deliberate, but not pre-meditated.
Needs a long sit down, more as a deterrent and PR message that this kind of cheap shot has no place in our game. But unfortunately, every now and then (very rarely in the pro-game, but also very common in amateurs) this type of thing will happen. Young blokes, filled with rage and ego…
True enforcers don't go out to maim their opponents. They aim to cross the advantage line consistently and put defences on the back foot, leading to breaks. Taumalolo at his best, JFH, Haas, these are enforcers. I'd say JWH too, but he does have a bit of the thug in him.I played prop and as a youngster, thought I needed to be ‘the enforcer’ on our team, and when you go into a game with that sort of mentality, wanting to hurt then opposition,
JWH turned to water when Simplest Jack fronted up to him. Was quite pathetic really for a bloke who's carried on the way he has over his careerTrue enforcers don't go out to maim their opponents.
