Barrett ahead of Thurston = Garbage

Everyone has been talking about Mason's selection, but why the hell did Barrett get picked ahead of Thurston??

Thurston: Dally M Medal winner
Grand Final Winner
Best player in GF the other night
OLD Origin halfback

Barrett: Pretty boy who has done sh*t all in the big games when the pressure is on, and injury prone.

Say no more.

Rammo, I'm afraid that the above post does nothing to arrest the almost universally accepted notion that you are actually geniused.

Barrett is more versatile as well. He can play lock and could play in the centres if needed. He was the form 5/8 of the comp at the back end of the season!

Not to mention that Prince played better than Thurston in the GF...

Absolute rubbish, it is possible for the losing side to have the best player on the field you idiot, but I guess it's easy for you to say that now, when was the last time the Clive Churchill medallist came from the losing side?

Australia don't need a lock, they have plenty of players who can fill that position, Barrett is there solely as a back-up 5/8 to Lockyer, and Thurston is versatile in that he can play 5/8 or 1/2 back. bullsh*t he was the form 5/8 of the comp, Thurston won the Dally M for god's sake and was one of the best players of the finals series, he certainly played 1000 times better than Barrett in the finals.

Come up with an alternative solution if you think mine is wrong, instead of just calling me a genius, but then again there is a fair element of truth to what I said so I guess that could prove to be abit difficult for a brainless trackhead such as yourself.

So Dally M Medallists are not Australian material, or QLD 1/2 backs
Preston Campbell was dally M medalist but never played for Aust. Also Qld halfback that was part of a losing team you conveniently forgot to mention that bit also he was given a football lesson by Johns in games 2 and 3. Also Barrett was NSW 5/8th so what's your point?
I mean the bloke won the dally M by default pretty much, he finished what 1 point ahead of Johns but played what 10 games more?
As for grand final winner, I didn't know he played for the tigers? If you're referring to last year than maybe they should've just picked the whole bulldogs team from last year.
Look the bloke is a 5/8th/halfback, Barrett has covered both those positions before at origin level, he's also played in a world cup final in the centres and was close to MOTM, he's also got the size and the defence to play lock, and he was also a dally m medalist a few years ago.
Also Barrett is injury prone, but so is andrew Johns and both are FIT NOW so what's your point?

1st bit, wrong, Anasta was NSW Five Eighth.

2nd thing, I pointed out that he was QLD halfback to show that he has big-game experience, something that seperates him from Campbell.

3rd thing, Dally M by default, there are other players in this competition besides Andrew Johns that he beat to the honour.

4th thing, trying to be a smartarse saying that he played for the Tigers, you knew I was referring to last year, dickhead.

Lastly, Barrett has played in rep games, but he shouldn't have, apart from Anasta, i think he is the most overrated player in the last 5 or 6 years.

Thurston sh*ts all over Barrett, and you would have to be a complete tosser to think otherwise.

Anasta is the overrated one. He aint as good as people make out he is.

Campbell has no big game experience?....he won a Grand Final as starting five-eight, not coming off the bench...or in a losing GF side...or a losing SOO side.

Barrett earnt his spot in the test squad. I am Barrett's greatest critic, I hate the guy, but he was a great player for the latter half of the season. He is also more defensively sound, whereas Thruston misses an average of 4-6 tackles a game. Something you cannot afford too much of at international level.

Thurston is overrated big time, sure hes a decent player but he isnt all that and a bag of chips

and yes Prince did outplay him in the GF i didnt see Prince knock the ball on cold or miss crucial tackles (like the one of benji)

But as a Kiwis fan i would prefer you to put Thurston in, then Stacey could give him a lesson

Barrett is ahead of Thurston. Thurston offers vertality but we already have Prince, Gower to cover halfback.
