BATHURST Panthers started their build-up to season 2004 with a social game of touch at Morse Park on Sunday., Around 25 players turned up for the mid-morning session, which was followed by a barbecue at the Bathurst City Bowling Club., Panthers' captain/coach Dave Elvy - going into his second season at the helm - said the session was basically a get-together before official training starts on Tuesday, January 6., "It's nothing too serious,” Elvy said. "We are just looking to get the side together for a bit of fun and a chat.”, Elvy was happy with the turnout, considering the number of players away on Christmas holidays at this time of year., He said with serious training starting in early January, he has plenty of time to build new combinations within the side., Panthers are expected to play some trials in late February, but just who they will play is not 100 per cent at this stage.
