BDO 2005

Just wondering who will be the headline acts.

Given Ken West's proclivity for landmark 70s/80s bands like Radio Birdman and Kraftwerk, wonder who will be the old school offering this year.

Given the spate of reunion tours going on at the moment, there are plenty to choose from.

The New York Dolls
MC5
The Pixies
Iggy and The Stooges

Wasnt there some talk about The Saints reforming? If that ever happens, BDO is where I'd expect to see it.

The Saints - the only band cool enough to share a name with the coolest ever football team. And Visa Versa

Hopefully Killswitch Engage - they were hopeful of making the bill last time they were out here

i've heard rumours of the used, new found glory and midtown. nfg and the used seemed ok but i doubt midtown would play bdo.

chemical brothers and system of a down were rumoured as soon as 2004 bdo finished.

None of them excite me, but I'll be praying Slipknot aren't on the bill. Would be such a waste of money IMO.

I've heard rumours of the Pixies, Streets, SOAD, The Cure, and some other older acts that I'm sure people would be creaming their jeans over, not me, however.

Pixies are not playing Splendour. However they are extremely short favourites to headline BDO 2005.

Ken West has already suggested The Chemical Brothers are headlining BDO 2005's Boiler Room. I would suggest the Beastie Boys want too much money to go on the BDO and will do their own tour. I would suggest also you may see Gomez and Wilco on the lineup next year...

I've never liked the Pixies. Their whole schtick just irritates me somehow. That new "Blam Kwok" song (or whatever it's called) is already pissing me off.

They were the kings, when there was little else around. Fine pop sensibilities.

BTW Spacemonkey...Your name. Patti Smith?

Hey if you liked the new Killswitch album you should check out Blood Has Been Shed, its the new Killswitch singer other band, i'd rate them as one of the best hardcore/metalcore bands around today.

BDO sucks and is full of some of the most overrated crappiest bands in the world, the only band i would of wanted to see this year would of been Poison the Well and even then they suck now.

i wouldnt like if pennywise played bdo, i want them to have there own tour. i reckon guttermouth or the vandals might be a chance for bdo or maybe livid.

I have no problem with that. As long as the Beastie Boys play a show in Sydney I'm happy.
