I don't mean to make it seem like a walk in the park but it certainly easier than Lomax to Storm lol.

I don't think it would be overs for Perth to be paying a Million per season for him, so it would be an upgrade for him and he'd be paying his preferred position.

I don't think it's easy! It's just that this deal would benefit all parties.

Titans need to move him on , not because he's a bad player but obviously Kini is the Fullback and fullback is the only position he's good at, absolutely kills it every time he plays there.

800k going down the drain at the Titans.
i dont disagree with you at all

i just feel like a bloke like brimo might not wanna relocate across country even for an extra $200k a season. now $300-350k? yeah maybe thats more like it.

i also feel like brimo is very much a titans change room guy who galvanises the team outside the field. he seems to be a real liked dude.

I've stop the shit talk, I can start up again if you want?
Move on , nobody here appreciates it.
you can if you want but you'd just end up being proven wrong again.
but as i said if anyone will know where bears cap is at it'll be that guy but looks like he doesnt post as much anymore.

considering they have 13 spots left, if you count mav geyer as done, i reckon they'd have around 50% if not more left.

vae'ila, bitungane, smith, lauli'lii, geyer, fa'asuamaleaui wouldnt be on much and theyd be there as depth and for a chance to try crack nrl 17.

curran, russell, sexton would be on ok money but again its more an nrl starting spot.

talakai, sorensen might be slightly above market value.

meaney, wishy, henry would be a lil bit because of versatility.

the english contigent of oledzki, mcdonnell and newmann would be on OK but again even ok money in nrl would trump big money in super league. thats my best guess

I asked R&B on those numbers on multiple occasions, those numbers are likely confidential.
Usually reporters get some kinda info but we've had nothing.. could be 5m could be 7 or 8..
Hopefully it becomes a little clearer soon.

Heard a rumour that Arama Hau has signed for 4 years, played pretty good for the Titans yesterday
Good call mate.

Dane caught up with Arama a few weeks ago. I can’t confirm if he has in fact signed or it’s still being talked through.

For a young edge, he has shown good signs.

Titans face poaching raid from Mal Meninga’s Perth Bears for boom forward Arama Hau

Fresh from his match-winning performance against the Dragons, Gold Coast is racing to re-sign local product Arama Hau amid interest from the cashed-up Perth Bears.

The Dragons have equalled their worst ever losing streak after eight straight losses dating back to last season, and their fans have had enough.

The Titans are racing to re-sign boom forward Arama Hau amid a poaching raid from Mal Meninga’s cashed-up Perth Bears.

Hau announced himself as a potential NRL star of the future with a stunning double against the Dragons on Sunday night to deliver Josh Hannay his first win as Gold Coast coach.

Hau, pronounced Hoe, burst through St George Illawarra’s defence twice with barnstorming runs off halfback Jayden Campbell, charging 30m the first time before finishing the second try from halfway in a sizzling solo effort to win the game.

A Gold Coast product from the same Nerang Roosters junior club as Broncos star Reece Walsh, Hau spent the 2023 season in England learning his trade on-loan to minnows Featherstone.

He returned to the Gold Coast and made his NRL debut in the final round of the 2024 season before adding another seven games to his tally last year.

The departure of David Fifita to South Sydney opened up a spot on Gold Coast’s right edge and Hau, a product of the same Keebra Park School as Fifita, produced a late pre-season surge to secure a chance ahead of Josh Patston.

The Bears are watching Arama Hau closely.

He has now punched out four 80-minute games and his demolition of the Dragons turned heads – potentially at rival clubs.

Off-contract at season’s end, Hau is being courted by the Bears and Meninga, who played a role in signing him at the Titans during his tenure as Gold Coast’s culture chief.

Hau, 21, is believed to have gone within a whisker of committing to the expansion franchise, but is now considering remaining at his home club.

“I am pinching myself every day doing something I love,” Hau said.

“To get a win in front of everyone and show the Gold Coast what we’re working on is good.
“I have always backed myself against anyone.

“I am working on my repeat efforts, the basics and consistency in my game … and those (game-breaking) moments will come.

RLG: Gold Coast head coach Josh Hannay and skipper Tino Fa'asuamaleaui speak after the club's first win of the season and first under Hannay's reign.

“I went to the same school as David. When I came here he took me under his wing a little so it is good to take over from him.”

Hannay made a big decision to release highly-paid Queensland star Fifita to the Rabbitohs with no ready-made replacement.

Patston looked to have secured first crack at the role until Hau caught Hannay’s eye following some pre-season heart-to-heart conversations with the self-confessed joker.

“In the middle of January he was not in contention,” Hannay said.

“He’s a young lad and there was possibility a bit of immaturity about Arama. He probably didn’t take his craft seriously enough.

“That’s been a work-on for him and will continue to be.

“What he’s done is put his head down and we’re seeing the rewards.
“The challenge for him is to put a season together.”

Hau’s demolition of the Dragons drew comparisons with the rampaging Fifita at his peak.

He will have to be at his best in Saturday night’s M1 derby with the Broncos at Cbus Super Stadium and Titans captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui said Hau was forging his own path.

“That’s shades of Arama Hau – he’s his own person and player,” Fa’asuamaleaui said.

“To see him get rewarded was really good. He’s put a lot of hard work in.
“For him to put four games together and get rewarded is good to see.”

BEARS’ NEWEST TARGET REVEALED
The Titans have a fight on their hands to retain an emerging star, with the Perth Bears reportedly set to make a play for the services of back rower Arama Hau.
The man who replaced David Fifita stamped his mark on the competition with a two-try display against the Dragons on Sunday, helping Josh Hannay secure his first win.
The 21-year-old previously spent the 2023 season on loan with English side Featherstone Rovers, going on to make his NRL debut in the final round of the 2024 season.

In 2025, he managed seven games but won the vacant Gold Coast back row spot under the Titans’ new coach and has been impressive since, with four 80-minute performances.
His form has caught the eye of the Beats, according to Code Sports, with Meninga hopeful of recruiting him to make the move west.
Interestingly, Meninga was involved in his recruitment at the Titans, having come through Keebra Park School.

Hau reportedly was close to signing a deal with the Bears, but is now considering remaining on the Gold Coast after finding success.
Interestingly, Hannay revealed in his post-match press conference on Sunday that Hau turned a corner in January, with Josh Patston the likely back rower until his bolter impressed.

“In the middle of January he was not in contention,” Hannay said.
“He’s a young lad and there was possibility a bit of immaturity about Arama. He probably didn’t take his craft seriously enough.

“That’s been a work-on for him and will continue to be. What he’s done is put his head down and we’re seeing the rewards.

Kini is such an overrated fullback. Particularly in regard to the way he organises the defensive line. Got a lot to learn.

In summary:
Wishys final season is PO (he is signed for 5 seasons).
Henry’s has final 2 season as PO (he is signed for 4 years)
Curran has final season as PO (he is signed for 3 seasons).

To be fair that isn’t that bad. Maybe they get home sick, least they won’t have to agitate for a release. They can advise club early and club can make recruitment decision based on what those players wanna do late in their contract term with those PO’s.

Three of Perth’s high profile signings have early get out clauses as the Bears are expected to announce the impending arrival of Mavrik Geyer.

It is understood that three of Perth’s players – Tyran Wishart, Liam Henry and Josh Curran – have early exits in the deals which have been trumpeted by the NRL’s 18th team in recent months.

The deals include;

Wishart was announced as a five-year contract in January. The Storm utility – who has been earmarked to start at hooker for the Bears – has a player option for the final year of his contract in 2031.

Henry signed in December on a bumper four-year deal to help lead Perth’s forward pack. However the Penrith premiership winner has guaranteed just two years with the new franchise with seasons 2029 and 2030 an option in his favour.

Henry’s Penrith teammate Scott Sorensen also signed with the club for the next two years but the veteran does not have an early exit option.

Curran signed a three-year contract with the Bears in January. The Bulldogs’ forward has an option in his favour to play out the final year of his contract in Perth in 2029.

A host of other clubs are sweating on clauses for next year including Wests Tigers duo Jarome Luai Jahream Bula while St George Illawarra’s Jaydn Su’A has an option in his favour for 2027.

The revelations of the clauses’ comes as Perth have secured another forward in Geyer. It is understood Geyer has agreed to a three-year contract to be part of Perth’s inaugural squad. Geyer, who is yet to play a first grade game for his new side the Tigers, is following in the footsteps of his dad Mark.

Not only did Mark make his NRL debut at Penrith before joining Balmain for one season but he was part of the Western Reds’ first team in 1995.

They are also in talks with South Sydney halfback Jamie Humphreys.

Burton would be a good signing, potentially on the outer at the Dogs getting shifted to centre.
Dogs were leading the comp with Sexton and Burton in the halves last year. Allows Wishart to play 9. Humphries' is a big unit, can play 14 and cover 7,9 and 13 off the bench.

Kit Laulilii agrees terms to join brother Luke at Perth Bears, roster now at 17 signings

Mal Meninga’s Bears have created another slice of history by signing their first pair of brothers, a move which takes them past a major milestone in their roster development for their 2027 NRL entry.

Mal Meninga’s Perth Bears have created another slice of history by signing their first pair of brothers ahead of their NRL entry next season.
This masthead can reveal Wests Tigers forward Kit Laulilii has agreed to terms on a two-year contract to join the Bears until the end of 2028.
The 21-year-old joins younger brother Luke, the Wests Tigers utility back who inked a deal with the expansion newcomers in January.

SEE EVERY PERTH BEARS SIGNING

Perth’s latest recruitment drive gives the Bears their first pair of siblings as they continue to build a 30-man full-time squad with their 2027 pre-season just seven months away.
The acquisition of Kit Laulilii is also significant because the middle forward is Perth’s 17th signing, meaning the Bears now have a full starting squad under foundation coach Meninga.

Liverpool product Kit has played three NRL games for the Tigers since his first-grade debut for the joint-venture club in 2023. He has also played 42 games in the NSW Cup.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old Luke has played 13 games for the Tigers, starting on the wing in Easter Monday’s thrilling 22-20 win over the Eels.

Meninga has spoken of the challenges of signing 30 NRL players amid fears over the tyranny of distance in travelling across the Nullarbor.
But Meninga made it clear the Bears would not hit the panic button with recruitment and dismissed concerns life in AFL-mad Perth, a four or five-hour flight away from Sydney, was a turn-off for NRL stars.
“The distance is not an issue,” he said.
“Building the foundation from the start is a challenge but we have the great traditions of the North Sydney Bears and Western Reds.
“We won’t be having a crack at just anyone.
“We will have a crack at people we want.
“We have our pillars and the type of player we want because that’s what we will build our foundations on.
“We have some standards we want to uphold, so we won’t have a scattergun approach and throw big money around willy-nilly.
“We’re set on players that we believe are going to fit the DNA of the Perth Bears and we’ll go from there.
“How long it takes to sign players doesn’t particularly worry me to be honest.”
