Any possibility the Bears might be getting a bit edgy about what’s happening in Perth , and try and hook up with PNG ?

They were open to joining with Pacific nations in the recent past , so what’s the difference with PNG?

A bird in the hand they say …

Latest from PVL in respect of the Bears ..

”if it doesnt work with Perth , we will look at other options for them “..

PNG Bears ?

WA Bears, people have thrown the PNG option around already even linking the Bears to them in past discussions, nothing ever has been negotiated/discussed between PNG and the Bears officials.

If WA don’t get in. That’s opens up a spot in the 20 teams otherwise thought to be filled.

Adelaide & Brisbane really opens up then.
Brisbane is already out.

Adelaide would be a good shout, but hard to see how it doesn't face the same problems with attracting the sort of investor the NRL wants.

Maybe Brisbane should have been “QLD”.

Without WA I don’t see how we get to 20 teams without another QLD team.

The Bears were initially looking at the Pacific which had nothing to do with the PNG bid, the Bears were mainly looking at Samoa, Tonga and possibly Fiji as PNG were already lodging their own NRL bid.

Yeah that’s nothing to do with the PNG bid… never said it was ,,,

But if they would consider joining them,,, then what’s the difference with PNG?

This is all a hypothetical BTW if Perth falls over … what are the Bears going to do otherwise ? wait 20 years to link up with Adelaide ?

No club falls over anymore, not with the grants being so high, and worst case scenario, NRL will guide it back like it did the Knights/Titans when they went sideways

Png want to go alone, both bears and firehawk bids asked to join forces with them, they said no to both, WA govt wants a team, they don't care who they are

We’re talking about the Perth Bears attempts to join the NRL falling over .. not the team after it’s been admitted ..

Whilst it’s still likely they get admitted ….i wouldn’t say it’s inevitable …it’s still up to the clubs to agree and we know what motivates them
