After last nights performance I seriously can't see a team beating you guys. The panthers are a young team and over the next few years should go down as one of the best club sides of all time. There was a periosd of about 15 minutes in the second half where the Roosters had all the ball but the defence was impecable.

I honestly think the only team that could match you would be if the Warriors have one of their hot days when all their dumb passes stick but that dosen't look like happening.

Otherwise its going to take some individual brillance from an Orford or Lockyer and the Panthers to have an off day AND all 50/50 calls to go against them, for any team to beat them.

I am looking forward to Fri night round 8 when we play you @ Penrith but hope we don't get blown a way in our first tv game! Hopefully Sattler/Elford/Reynolds come out with something to prove and Benji gets some space otherwise I have my concerns of a blow-out!!

I don't think sattler has anything to prove. In fact I think he'll probably get an all mighty roar from the crowd when he runs on. Then we'll get down to business. :D

Thanks Tiger Nick,

We are incredibly proud of our team, but I don't think too many Panther fans would be getting too carried away at this stage.

I think there is always a little extra spite in a Panthers/Roosters match (as we saw towards the end), so our guys have no trouble finding that extra motivation to get fired up for those matches, but they are only human too.

We are as capable as anyone of having an off day, round 1 against Newcastle being just one example, and these days anyone can beat anyone else on any given day.

And of course injuries play a big part in it too, as we well know from previous years when the Panthers were beaten black and blue with the injury stick. ;-)

I'm just as hopeful as I was last year.......even more confident than last year......but I'm still not stupid enough to get cocky and think that the trophy is a foregone conclusion. It's a long long time between now and the end of the comp.

But having said that...........so far it's looking pretty damn good...
