Troy, I don't know if you've seen him play this year.
But I have.
Very disappointing.
Best years are behind him.
He suffers from a bad back.
It has limited his aggression these days and agility.
He is taking the ball up soft.
He is very slow.
And he only puts on the occassional big hit in defence.
His contract is up and I doubt if the Sharks will resign him.

More aggressive younger guys should get a call up to first grade than 'Old Beats'.

Heard a rumour from someone that Beattie might have been saying there is a bit of unharmonious banter around the players regarding team selection.

Beattie reminds me of Nutley a bit, ie gives away many dumb penalties and drops alot of ball.

Someone else reported him (obviously going by the clues), reporting the faults in other players. e.g Williams tackles too low.

A bit of competition for spots can't be a bad thing. It wouldn't worry me if Beattie is on his way out.
