Beau Ryan - Stat leader in the category that counts

Beau Ryan has copped a lot on this forum (and for good reason in a lot of cases), but one area of his game that is continually overlooked is a category in which he leads the NRL in by a country mile. Go through yesterday's tries and what is the one common denominator?? You guessed it, Beau Ryan is first man in every time bar one when we score a try for a good old fashioned man hug. Its a category that isn't well publicised and I'm here today to give the great man credit

He currently has a 85% strike rate for 'first man in - post try'. He is breathing down the neck of the Great Matt Jobson, who had a 95% strike rate for 'first man in -post try' but played far less first grade (I'm still gobsmacked as to why he didnt play more often). Keep an eye out for Beau on Friday, as he has flown under the radar enough for this year

Beau Ryan picked his act up in these past weeks.

But yeah, my dad pointed this out when I called him sleau ryan. He said, well he's not so Sleau to join the team in celebrating.

Benji beat him for one post try man hug but you guessed it Big Bad Beau was second in. I just hope he leaves it on the field, the last thing you need is a man hug while showering after the game

I can just see the Rebecca Wilson headline
" TIGERS GROUP MAN HUG SCANDAL "

Not sure which game it was but in one of the more recent hit-outs (in our last 6 wins) Beau and JoMo are chasing the ball in-goal. Beau lets JoMo score and Beau's hands are already in the air doing the double fist pumps before JoMo has even grounded the ball. In slow motion it looked awesome!

But you would expect Beau or Benji to be first-man-in-post-try. They are the speedsters. But, when the props finally arrive (which is about 3 minutes later given that all our tries are long range) they put in the really powerful man-hugs.

Stick him on the wing, they seem to be scoring all the tries out that way

he seems to get to the try scorer really quickly doesnt he??

i think supercoach seensy should pit together a video reel and say something along the lines of "this is how fast u should run in general play"

I have been waiting a few weeks for this to happen as you can tell he is starting to get desperate for one.

I think the boys would be into him all week at training about the nudie run.

Ryan did his job on the weekend.

Wasn't excellent, but wasnt a liability.

He is fist in because he's backing up which is great - hes not scoring them because the other players are too scared to pass it to him!! lol

This statistic is even more amazing considering Tuiaki seems to score most of the Tigers tries. To be first in on your opposite winger - true commitment.

After i read the first paragraph I was thinking "he doesn't have anything on Jobson." Good to see someone agrees with me!

Tezza Hill would've had a pretty high strike rate iirc.

Me and my mates call him high five cos as the thread states he is always first in for the man hug/high five.

Love his passion.
