:) Effnic, that was Costigan, he's a shocker.

Wayne Pearce though, without any hesitation is the worst. "The Worriers", "Vhat-u-vey", and the constant innuendo about them being a bunch of reckless polynesians who have no idea and are all 500 pounds of fat who can't laterally defend.

I still remember the time last year when he called him Mimanny Vatootai. Not kidding.

I've seen this tackle over and over on replays etc. Every time it looks to me quite clear that Menzies hits him cleanly on the jaw with his shoulder. He doesn't "hit the chest and go up" or anything like that, he just hits him as hard as he can with the side of his body and there's immediate (and hence imo reckless) contact between the point of the shoulder and Ah Van's melon. But apparently pointing this out is making the game soft.

 I don't recall that one, but it doesn't surprise me.

There's a massive difference in interpretations between rah-rah rules and league rules regarding armless tackles etc., I tend to agree with rah-rah to be honest. It requires more ability to tackle with the arms wrapping around a player than to simply run in as a shoulder cannon.

I don't agree with rah-rah rules at all. I just think that any tackle where you make immediate contact with a player's head is high and therefore illegal. I don't think it's complicated.

You would think that.

Its funny though, the rules are there to protect player safety, but shoulder charges are let off, and infact praised to the high heavens when in reality they're the most dangerous of all. Point of the shoulder hitting the jaw isn't a good feeling.
