BEGA Rugby League Football Club has appointed former Bega and Illawarra player Robert Stevenson to the position of non-playing First-Grade coach for 2004.
A local Bega junior Robert progressed to the Senior level where he was a member of two First Grade premiership winning sides coached by Lloyd Martin.
He then moved to Wollongong where he played Under 21s and Reserve Grade for Illawarra Steelers.
Robert played as an organising halfback under a host of well credentialed coaches and as a student of the game says he is excited at having the opportunity of working with the talented youth within the club.
The Tri-colours are hoping to have Under 18s, Reserve Grade, and First Grade sides in 2004 and plan to commence training in late January.
Any interested players are asked to contact club secretary Charlie Bell on 6492-3126 ah.
The club and supporters welcomes Robert and his family and wishes them a successful season.
