I know it doesn't really matter, I'm certainly not losing any sleep over it, but can someone please explain why this was not a try? I was at the game, so couldn't look at it as closely as I otherwise would have so I may be wrong, but it seemed like it was either a try or held up? He looked to be over the line the whole time. Just seen plenty of attempted tries like that before and it's never come out as a penalty for a double movement, his arms never touched the ground?

As soon as another attacking player pushes his own player it is an instant held call. Its in the rules. I am so glad they didnt give that try as I am sick of seeing that happening. Its not Rugby!

Thaiday can push his own player to help him score but he pushed creagh, this impeding creagh from stopping hannant.

Equals no try.

The four people in my lounge room knew that. Apparently none of the ch9 douchebags did cause at the time they said try...

Thaiday pushed a NSW player into Hannant to try and force a try which you cannot do. Correct call.

Thaiday pushed a Blues player off Hannants back making a tackle.

I had to explain that rule to the Qlders around me at the game, some with a little smarts agreed.

Dear God I'm sick of that going unpunished but right now I am also pretty angry because of a game 2 years ago that cost the Tigers the finals where Mannah basically tackled Robert Lui away from Luke Burt to stop him dragging him over the dead ball line.

Correct call. Even though it has been ruled the other way on at least 1 occasion this year.

Happens just about every weekend in club footy without penalty. I expect to see it called the same way from now on.

Won't hold my breath.

But was he over the line? Therefore a held up. Sorry I'm not sure, didn't get to see it.

Ah right fair enough. Weird, never seen them call that before.

Why ???

Because it was agreed upon before the match not to embarass NSW too much.

Pulling their pants down in front of 52K QLD'rs is one thing

Publicly f*cking them up the arse is another.

It's a nice feeling to take the high road ...........

Tamou scored against Roosters this year like that. I was suprised that this was given no try when that one was given a try, even though they both should have been no tries anyway.

So... according to that rule, you're not allowed to push your player to stop him from going into touch?

Just watched it on TV, bizarre. I've seen that happen so many times. I'm not contesting that if it's actually the rule, just that I've never seen that ruling.

To sum it up, you're not allowed to push an opposing player whilst in possession.

From what people are saying here is different.

I think the thing is it probably doesnt happen much in the NRL or doesnt get picked up as much. I mean it was lucky that Hayne went upstairs to check if Hannant put the ball on the grass.
