I’m still not sold on Hunt. So many games over the years he has let the game slip through his hands. BTW any reason why Hunt can’t take any kicks at goal or field goal - as a half surely he would be up there as 1st to get the ball.

Hunt before 2021 - coached by Mc85
Hunt 2021 - coached by an actual coach
Does that explain Hunt's problems and why he is better this year?
Not sure about his kicking issues though. His 1 attempt at drop goal last night was not great.

Ben Hunt doesn't play last night we lose by plenty....best player on the field... watch the replay.
My advice to anyone is the same. Even when things appeared to be going pear-shaped for us, just keep an eye on Hunt. Through him, you could see that we were still in the game.

Then have a look at our missed opportunities and the Warriors not giving enough to defend their flanks.

We came back in the second half, we weren't capable of that last year. It suggests some self belief, and that's clear potential for the remainder of the season.

Well said.

My take is with our halves pairing, Hunt is having to do the lions share of work in both defence and creativity attack execution given Norman's generally pedestrian efforts in both.

Hunt has shouldered most of the halves workload since paired with Norman and I think burn out is probably a factor in his sometimes poor form.

It's amazing how well Ben is playing now that he is not being berated in the sheds after every game and blamed for everything that goes wrong on the field.
Yeh well someone needed to tell the coaching staff the same thing
I tried from the side lines and over the fence...no one listened
It was plain as day our prior coaching staff had no vision to create game plans to work over and break down opposition or up skill players or even play to someones strengths.
They just relied on efforts and passion from players and hoped that would work.

But he'll have a blinder against a pack of plodders, and all is forgiven. Its Widdop all over again.

Agree re Hunt.. but not Widdop. He stood out against plodders and non plodders. Had great game awareness, ball skills, a good defender and short kicking game and had a habit of being on the spot to clean up our mistakes. Our last true creative half/5/8 imho.

Widdop ha! didn't look very good running across the field like a crab.Jaming all outside him over the sideline. A real shit pot imposter. Bennett got him out of the 5-8 spot when he coached England. Couldn't get him out quick enough.
