Very happy with the signing .. massive step forward for the club in my opinion McGregor will be gone half way through the season or he'll see it out doesn't matter .. my hope is 2018 is a massive year for us will once again be a dominant club oh and let's not forget doust extends his own contract

Everyone talks about Nona and Field, what about Mann? Am I the only one that sees it?
Nope. I'd be all for Mann playing at 6 - he has as many (if not more) junior wraps on him and outside of Hunt will dominate. Plus 2018 is still very early to expect big things from Field, he will take him time to adjust to the physicality of first grade. I'd love to see Mann get at least half a season in 2017 in the halves and take over the 6 jersey in 2018, with Field getting brought through properly.

The biggest concern, however, is that McGregor uses this as a bargaining chip for an extension...along the lines of 'guys, we now have a genuine halfback, give me another chance next year'...

Let hope not benny.
I am hoping that we allready have the coaching solved.
Let hope so

Change of the Guard 2018 Backline - no room for DUGAN IMO unless Duffy proves a total failure....

1. Duffy - Age 21
2. Mcdonald - Age 24
3. Aitken / Herbert - Age 22
4. Milne / Lafai - Age 22

5. Mann / Thompson - Age 22

6. Field - Age 20
7. Hunt - Age 28

Average Age of Backline: 22.7 Years
At this stage of their careers, and likely for the next 3 years or so, DUgan shits all over all these guys from a great height. Especially if we end up with a coach that has a few working brain cells.

New is not only better. We have a current international centre who wants to play for our club, is a leader on the field and is a SOO level fullback to boot. If we manage to lose him, we have rocks in our head.

Off topic though. Yay Hunt.

i am elated, after all the crap we have had to put up with this is a monumental signing, even though it is a lot of money, we had to get someone of his caliber to come and join us, we now have and will have when our juniors reach first grade a top competitive team for a number of years.
I would love to see him join this year but 2018 looks like it will our time.
Yes finally people talking positively about singing hunt
I think he will be fantastic for us

I think Nona has the potential to shine and be an x factor type of 6 playing outside someone like hunt.
But im hoping to see Mann get a decent run in 2017 in the 6 jersey.
If Widdop wont be with us in 2018, which it certainly looks that way after signing hunt, then we should experiment with both Nona and Mann in the halves at some stage.
And if Field is ripping it up in the cutters, replace the weaker of Nona/Mann with field and see how Field handles first grade.
We need to get a proper assessment of all 3, Nona, Mann, Field, as in minimum 6-8 weeks run in the halves, to prepare for 2018 the best we can.

Yep! And we head into 2018 with Mary..and then Bigger concern is Hunt helps us limp to 8th place and then Mary uses another "finals appearance" as proof that he's the man for the job...

Hunt's impending arrival throws up the following permutations:

1. The futures of Dugan and Widdop (I severely doubt the latter will stay beyond this year).

2. Is this signing retribution against Bennett recruiting Demetriou I.e. payback?

3, Is this an indication that a new coach will be at the helm (let's hope so).

4. Obviously the club saw Hutchison as a short term solution only. His future is in doubt,

5. Kurt Mann to five eighth?

In the interim, I should start looking for a Manly jumper at my local rubbish tip.
