If we were in any doubt that the little whiner had influenced Zachary to ask for a release from the Big Red V , then we do not need to wonder any longer .

Hunt undoubtedly did get into his ear apparently throughout the ‘23 season agitating the young goose into seeking an early end to his contractual obligations with the Dragons .

However by displaying their dirty laundry in the media , they have both behaved in a manner which is unfitting for so called ‘ professional ‘ rugby league players and staining their own reputations in the bargain which , at least in Lomax’s case could come back and bite him on the arse in years to come .

A final word on Hunt , his actions remind me of those of the captain of the infamous Costa Concordia who left with his crew in lifeboats leaving the passengers behind , fortunately in Hunt’s case the only crewman that he took with him was Lomax - the rest have stayed with their ship .

Why did the rest remain you may ask ? Quite simply the S.S. Dragon is not sinking , all it requires is a able captain , one who will do everything possible to steer his team on to calmer waters and is proud to wear the Big Red V jersey ! 😇

I am bit disappointed Zac publicly had to support him in the fact that he wants to win..saying we are on the same page, why they left. Just a subtle shot
Not sure Parra is that ideal destination yet, you might win some games.
I remember Friz saying the same thing.

I was smiling when I heard that the NRL expects any team to pay Hunt around the same as what we are paying.

Ha! Ha! Sucked in to whomever!

Personally I believe a top coach is an extension of a really potent spine.
Bunt is part of a spine, Zac is just whinging winger at best.
Shane Flanagan has already won a Premiership, Hunt has lost a Premiership, highly likely never to win a comp, Zac Lomax will never play finals footy, are we on the same page boys and gals?
I have a dream where Flanno is giving his middle finger salute to both of those ungrateful flogs after St George have won the 2026 grandfinal.

I know its hard to ignore.. but the journos are going to keep asking Ben/Zac questions.. and Ben/Zac are going to keep answering.. even though its the same question they have answered 50 times before.

Unfortunately this will continue into pre-season... into the early-rounds... after every win... before and after dragons games.. its essentially a 12mth separation before we are legally divorced.

Sad thing is that despite being a very polarising figure when he was here and having a bit of a reputation as playing better in rep teams than at club level, Trent was a much better all round player than the CHunt. Not even close actually.
Yeah, just saying went he came back from England he signed with Sharks saying he did “to win a premiership” (similar). Didn’t work.

The 2 gooses left to win a premiership. Last I saw Flanno has won a comp and Ryles hasn't. Not sure where Ben will end up. On the back of these 2 telling the media they left to win a comp (more or less), they should interview Ennis, Gallen, Barba, Maloney, Townsend, Fifita, Prior, Lewis, Graham, Beale, Heighningtion, Tagatese, Bukuya Leuete, Feki and Bird how they won a comp with the same coach. Just to see if these guys recon they could win a comp under Flanno? Says more about Zac/Ben than Flanno really. I left out Val Holmes because he is actually returning to a coach that he won a comp with so he can't be that bad Benny and Zac.

I would love one of the ex-Sharks players to come out and defend Flanno. A few (Ennis, Graham and Gallen) came out this year and said Flanno is a great coach and will put Saints in the premiership window but now with this slandering by the 2 backstabbers, they should re-inforce it. I am sure they will continue to remind people how good Flanno is next year regardless during their commentary/sport show.

I just realised Chad Townsend has won a comp and been in Finals footy more than Hunt. Townsend never played origin. Let that sink in how much Hunt should be down the list of half backs capable of winning a comp, and he was being paid 950k?

Gal has had a lot of good things to say about Flanno. Mostly that he’s very impressed with his footy IQ.

Garner left us and on the way out, he talked us up as best as he could. Now we are all behind him as far as his individual game goes. He’s a good guy.

There was no need for Bunt or Lomax to be rude and sulk, it’s just created unnecessary bad will and negativity for them. It’s adversely effected their reputations for ever after.

When their career is done and dusted, they’ve got another 40 or 50 years of contempt to endure.

It’s funny how people often tend to make such bad choices.

Funny you should say this bcs I have always seen Flanno as Captain Bligh, set adrift on the wide ocean in an open launch with limited supplies and a motley crew of 18 volunteers, but against all odds he navigated them across more than 4,000 miles of open sea and past savage islands to finally bring them - all but one - to safety in Indonesia.

But of course, Bligh did not have to deal with the St George board.
