Interesting to see that the ex Warrior, Widnes and Mt Albert half is now playing for the Mahurangi RU club in Walkworth where he now lives. Shame to see players like him 'lost' to RL. Shame as Hibiscus Coast is only 20 minutes away.

Yes it is surprising, moreso as the Raiders aren't going that well so far in the competition.

Ben has been drifting in and out a bit in the last couple of years. I don't
think his heart is in top grade anymore. Mind you, I would have prefered
to see him playing league for the Rodney Rams if he didn't want to play
BC for the Raiders.

Good point Skinner - go the Rodney Rams. He has set up a new business and in rural NZ playing for the local RU club probably gives you a strong network of friends and future clients plus he is probably enjoying then change.

Don't know what's happened at the Raiders, but that has been
Benny over the last few years. He has made "free spirit" an art
form.

Just on a related note, I think the Raiders will struggle again this
season in BC. Their reserve side (Premiers) are playing in Phelan
Shield (3rd division) and that is far from ideal. It was fairly obvious
that when Bluey left and went to Mt Albert it was going to go down
hill, but it has been swift and merciless.
