He is on an incentives based contract that depends on the number of games he plays. Obviously there is a big risk with him but if fit we'd hae a very good front row with Asotasi, Stuart, Ross, Taylor and Geddes with Pettybourne, Crocker, B.Lowe, McPherson and Tyrell in the backrow.

He will never be the same player after a shocking injury like that. Should have invested all the money the sharks gave him and used it to fund his retirement.

MANY thought Ben Ross's career was over when he sustained a horrific neck injury earlier this year - but the former Queensland prop's NRL journey will continue this afternoon when he announces a new deal with the Rabbitohs.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Ross will join South Sydney next year after being given the all-clear to resume playing rugby league by a neurosurgeon in May.
On about $400,000 a season at Cronulla, it is understood Ross will be taking a pay cut to join the Rabbitohs who last month released Craig Wing from the final year of his deal.

I agree, when not injuried, his go forward is first class and he rarely misses tackles.

The problem is the injuries, not the play.

I think he'll go well at the bunnies, I don't know why Souths fans are so worried.

I'm not. It's not like he'd take up much salary cap and if fit will be an asset. Most people expect him not to play much anyways so if and when he plays it will be a bonus.

I'm more worried about Taylor tbh... Every year one of our "star" signings gets injured early and misses the year.

He should have retired. Simple.

I would hate to be in charge of the club that a player snaps their neck at, especially after a massive prior warning.

Whatever anyone thinks of him as a player, no one wants to see the big guy go down like happened last time.

I also wished he retired from the game, and was given a gig working for the NRL.

That said, I hope he proves me wrong on this one.
