well it was actually ripped out - and he gave the ref a suitable unhappy face

but yeah - 2 runs is woeful .... its pleasing to see DA has named Joe G starting this week - long overdue!

but no-one defending BBB has directly responded about the 2 pathetic runs he made.

only excuses about adapting to the pack. what does making 2 runs have to do with adapting to the pack?

this is what i'm yet to see a response to

So you are happy with the average metres of 6.5M?

To be fair - he has come into a team lacking confidence, needing confidence himself. I believe he is better than what he has shown recently.

For all the Ben Smith haters......

NRL.COM

Todd Lowrie.

Games Played:8

Average runs per game:5

Average total metres per game:9 (That's total metres...not metres per run!)

...and yet he keeps his position..week after week after week after week.

Ben Smith should never have went to the media, post Finch.

His form doesn't warrant first grade selection but its the only thing that I can see that is the difference between where he finds himself now and why that absolute joke of a footballer continues to get selected each week.

absolutey not. i'm actually pretty f**ked off about it, as you can tell.

i don't mind the bloke being given a go, and being given time to adapt. but only if he's going to put up a half decent effort, and i'm sorry but 2 runs is NOT a half decent effort. he made 20 tackles btw, since it's not like he's making up for it on the defensive end.

if he does 2-5 runs again, he can play in wenty imo

Why would Ben be lacking confidence ffs?
He's a seasoned first grade footballer. If he's lacking confidence, he shouldn't be anywhere near the NRL.
Thank god we now have a hard arsed coach who can see through some of these pretenders.
Hagan probably would have made him captain.

If we are going to persist with him in the second row, i would like to see him make more runs yes, but that is a problem with our whole pack, take fui and joe out and we do not make meters ...

i will say one thing, we have to run better lines and we have to just harden the f**k up ...

lowrie makes negative meters ... he he he .. we def need some hard running guys who can bend the opposition backs, but we do not have that, we have the same type of player look at all the younger guys we have recruited, i do not see any agro in any of em ...

there are guys who i scratch my head to see why they are in first grade and that goes for all teams, but seriously parra must be right up there in the worst managed team in the NRL ...

i would rather a bloke make 10 runs for 25 metres than 2 runs for 13 metres. at least the bloke who made 10 runs dug in and had a go, and is more likely to succeed through attitude

todd lowrie is sh*te, there's no point arguing that.

Every time Lowrie breaks a tackle and looks okay, he drops the thing.
Ive tried hard to give him a chance this year, hes due on Friday night,
big match for Todd I reckon.

I don't think confidence is a thing that always goes up the longer you live no matter what happens

tbh you could make that statement about most our team - we don't have many NRL rookies - they've just about all had more than a crack at it .... i think pretty much all of them are lacking confidence

the argument that he is new to the position and is still adapting is a joke. the guy has probably been playing league all of his life - if he doesnt know it is a 2nd rower's job to make some metres than he deserved to be dropped for that very reason. i dont care how new he is to the position, calling the ball and making a few runs isnt too hard. he's a pussy.

I dont know why people thought he would do well in the backrow to begin with.

He never really used his size in the centres when running the ball, it's a bit much to expect him to suddenly do it in the forwards.

Yay! Let's lay the boot into a guy who is playing a totally different position! Because clearly playing in the back-row is identical to playing in the centres! Yay!

I'm sorry but Ben Smith is an NRL player. For someone who does nothing but play rugby league making only 13m is pretty bad even if you are out of position.

Seriously, it is pretty clear to me that he just doesn't want to play for Parra anymore.

He has lost his passion, his fire. He has lost his mojo!!;-)

Maybe he needs to engage in some group sex??

I'm sure Ben Smith is his own biggest critic. I hope he can improve in time, he was great to watch in full flight before he got all those injuries.
