My Choice of our Best Pack would be
13. Matto 12. Ice 11. Lane 10. Jnr 9. Rheed 8. RCG
14. Bryce 15. Nrown 16. Marata 17. Makatoa/Oregon

Now if I was to rest our Pack onto the bench (what I will call second Pack)
I would have
13. Nrown 12. Marata 11. Lane 10. Makatoa /Oregon 9. Rein 8. RCG/Jnr
14. Bryce 15. Matto 16. Ice 17. Jnr/RCG

And if we are going well in the game, give less gametime to RCG/Jnr.
Of course we will have injuries and that's where Stone and mixing the Top Shelf players around has to come into it.

Then play these 2 packs according to our Draw. So something along the lines of:

Nah, flog him... actually, I didn't want to start with Bryce and Ice works hard every game whereas Lane cruises sometimes.

Plenty of forward depth to mix around through the season - though I think I'd rotate/bench/rest a player at a time, rather than entire swap between two alternate packs (as unpredictable injuries/suspensions might have an impact)?

But would think about giving one of our big guns (Paulo, Papali'i, Campbell-Gillard, Mahoney) a spell in games against each of weaker packs.

My first choice pack this season:

13. Matterson (with N Brown off the bench this season)
12. Papali'i
11. Nuikore (when not suspended, with Lane off the bench)
10. Paulo
9. Mahoney
8. Campbell-Gillard

14. N Brown
15. Makatoa
16. Lane
17. Rein / Arthur

Stone
Kaufusi
Grieg
Cartright

I reckon Bryce offers better utility value on the bench than JA or Rein. He could cover Centre, halves, edge forward and lock, and probably even hooker for a short 20 minute spell if required.

I'm sure marata will cover centre when he comes back from suspension, but Bruce is really bad at dummy half.

I just don't think we can play mahoney 80mins each week

the 14 however is going to be interesting - it will clearly be one of Rein, JA, Cartwright or Stone.

Rein makes most sense imo…
Cartwright however maybe offers more versatility

I'd only carry a hooker on bench if they can bring some spark.
Hands may be able too. Unsure eig he is in the top 30.
Rein seems more a back up.
Stone most likely gets the gig
