Benji cracking the whip

Something had to be done. All the players were gathered together and told in no uncertain terms that they were not to come back after holidays unfit.
If nothing was done about several players going against that statement, how stupid would Benji ave looked and how much credibility would he have lost.

I think if Benji does succeed he will have had someone in the background shielding him from vultures and guiding him somewhat.
Those sanctions I bet, were Richo's doing, or at least suggested by him.
Since Richo has been CEO we have raised the bar by driving the standards higher.
He was instrumental in getting both Luai to sign up and extending Galvin
which seems to have had a rollon effect in recruiting more top players.
He has let some players go that the previous administration would have kept, live David Nofoaluma and Luke Brooks.
We have recruited a team that can finally compete.
We have cleaned up/out the head office.
He has put an end to the bullshit that our previous CEO was spruking like annoucing factual membership numbers.
Didn't pay 900k to keep Stef whereas the previous board would've.
LO suddenly gets govrrnment upgrade funding.
Been a huge player in getting a Campbelltown Office so people in the Macarthur District feel connected to Wests Tigers.
Improved keeping confidential matters in house......well its better than the previous CEO/Chairman who were eager to make themselves look good by making premature announcements, which didn't eventuate and made us look stupid.
He has made a couple of blunders like holidaygate but we don't know all the details.
Has talked the talk with media and sounds so much more a like a competent administrator of the game.
Calls out the media and has driven the members first program which I have noticed an improvement in by getting emails from the club.
If only he would return TSP's emails he would be a 10/10 ;)

Agree, because sure as shit, it would have come out in the press at some stage.

Re: Benji.
He is basically coming into his third year as a head coach. I am still shattered at his comments re the last game against the eels.
But that was yesterday, hopefully he has learned more about his role, because I don't think he will be here, if we aren't showing any improvement, especially with the talent we have acquired.
But the season has only just started, and he has shown some balls by outing players not turning up to pre-season in the condition they were required, so I am hopeful; he has learned, and we will progress to finally get back to being a competitive club again.
Though, I'm always hopeful of improvement every year:(

Yeh I'm hearing you.

Bird is actually a good signing because he is aggressive in wanting to score or make that covering tackle.
He won't die thru lack of trying.
Our squad is starting to get more of these type of guys, Luai and Turuva, May etc.
Players like Papali’i switch off at times so I'm not overly upset about that.

It's getting hard to imagine the club being in the top 8, it's been that long.
Those dreams have long faded.
How will we handle it, when it happens hahaha

Well mate, I'm honestly not a betting man but I'm going to wager that we we do make the top eight before the odds shorten ;)

Agree, I read an article from a coach in the NFL who gave a speech about players need to be willing to achieve, because if you're not, you won't make that 1% play that could be the difference between winning and losing.

When you look at the good clubs in our comp, it's what they do, most our players just seem like they are happy to be called NRL players without putting in the effort.

Hahaha, I don't really gamble, but I do put $50 on them every year to make the top 8, I'm down a bit, even if they eventually achieve it.

Do you want a loan, how much will that cost ..it will be around $650 I reckon.

I was working on 50 bucks a year since 2011, which puts you out of pocket about $650 :)
Yeah, I think from memory, last year, I would have got (around) $300 or something like that, will probably never recoup it. That’s OK.
Just gives me an interest for the first few games, then I realise I’ve lost already hahaha

I'll bet you 100 smiley faces that we make the top 8.
I think we should be a big chance, as I said, it’s just a bit hard to image atm, but it was always going to happen, it was just the date was not known.
Seriously, if we can’t get there with this squad, something is terribly wrong.

Exactly. Every year we/I do this to ourselves. We think we'll go better but it turns out poop.
I'd love to see 4 wins in a row at start of year. Who are we playing in those rds.
