Benji doesn't sound happy ...

Benji hasn't been happy for a while. You just have to look at the interview he gave to Andy Raymond after the Monday night game against Parramatta. He said something to effect that he was happy to be back at halfback in his preferred position but his eyes and body language was so poor you could tell he was saying it to keep other people happy.

Our club needs a good dose of reality to progress from the mire we now find ourselves in.The first step to redemption is to punt Sheens. It is only coming to light now about the number of young footballers this bloke has cruelled in favour of his click, who can do no wrong no matter how bad they play.
Bring in a coach who will pick players on ability and merit without favour, then accountability and success will follow.

Beau Ryans media and football career has been built on being a bumlicker.

It's been obvious for years the culture is f**ked there. What other club would tolerate such 'but hes a mate' bullshit? Even Penrith under Elliot were one team.

You guys are f**ked and your nuffy CEO has left you in a hole.

He can't even make a decision at an emergency board meeting. What is the point of the merkin?

If you can afford to sack Sheens, do it now and get in someone who will break the cliques apart and slap Benji in the face... drop him for a few games... just wake him the f**k up and make him realise he is expendable.

Daniel Anderson would do.

The big worry is you're stuck like this for next year and lose Farah... he knows he's got a few good years now and they should be quality with his Origin gig... doubt he wants to waste them on the Sheens and Benji show.

Its about having fun and not winning? Thats the cruxt of Benji's attitude.

Any wonder you guys have f**ked up so bad in September.

I genuinely feel for Frah. I dont blame him for hating Benji's guts. The kid cries when he can't play with his mates and just wants to have fun.

Sorry, this is just hilarious. Sheens and Hunphreys are like enabling parents of spoiled kids.

Tough, tough times for the Tigers ahead. I do feel for you fans. This makes Saints management look like they are carrying out Best Practice methodology.

Benji is now spewing that Hino is gone cos he organises lunches.
f**k me dead are these spastics for real ?
Yeah let's keep hino cos he organises lunches at Concord RSL on Friday arvos
I hear he organises dinners as well and even organises dancing competitions at the end where he shuffles on the spot, goes nowhere and gets dominated by Paul Mercurio.
f**k me dead I'm almost at the point where Benji can get f**ked and join sheens wherever he f**ks off to

The players, if they were true brothers, would have had a f**king go instead of getting 40 put on them twice by an easts side who detested their coach.

Our's are carrying on like a bunch of spoilt little brats and i'd be happy if we kept about 6-8 of them and the rest pissed off.

I sincerely hope that f**king cat Moltzen is next

The article in today's smh was the biggest load of shit I have ever read

'I'll only get to see Chris and beau once a week'

This guy needs a reality check

He can piss off for all I care, benjis attitude seems to be one of our biggest problems

Thankyou Vic... i think there are other issues other than just some players leaving due to cap pressure.

Does anyone think that Benji and Farah are on way too much $ and this is causing tension amongst the squad?

Power struggle with Benji, Humphries and Sheenius all wanting to call the shots but none of them having a f**king clue.

You can't have your top player sooking in his newspaper article about management decisions.

It's been said a lot on here, but it's worth saying again, if we have to decide between Benji and Robbie it has to be Robbie. That said I think Benji will get over this. He didn't spit the dummy and go when his other mates left the club (Prince, Gibbs, Lolesi), I don't see why Beau/Rhino would be any different. He has an entire off season to suck it up.

I agree and have said the same thing on other threads gronkathon.

I have seen the entire Bulldogs NRL team at Leichhardt 2 or 3 years back to support their NSW Cup team. I have seen the entire Bulldogs NRL team at Belmore playing the Tigers in a NSW Cup semi and did not see 1 Wests Tigers player, OK I'll admit, I didn't see all in the crowd but certainly the Bulldog players stood out.

Culture, a good CEO like Greenberg drives that home. Humpty, well who knows and it would appear that he doesn't know.

Farah was at Leichhardt today, think I saw Jacob Miller as well.

The whole Dogs team was there (even guys like Mitch Brown), as well as Hasler.

As someone said elsewhere, this should be an official 'work' function. The only guys cleared not to attend are the guys in PNG.

Especially for the Tigers, the semi's have been played at Leichhardt for the past couple of years, culture, it's a cultural thing.

Robbie and Jacob, good on you guys, anyone else hiding elsewhere in the crowd, good one you as well.

Season ends PM next Monday (after recovery session on Monday morning) that should be the aim of every player in ever club.

Benji hating Farahs guts is a myth . Maybe he hates the Benji -Sheens relationship but thats about it.

Thats so unprofessional, what was published today.

Its a sackable offence IMO.

The fact he won't be proves his point.

Laughably bad management. Humpty is a parody - David Brent like. Totally out of his depth.

What makes me unhappy is how Benji can possibly think he has inherited the culture from Paul Sironen Benny Elias. Mark O'Neill or John Skandalis.
Benji, you are inflating your ego to think you are in the same class as them. These guys actually where devoted to the club and loyal to their fans.
Skando stuck it out through some really tough times at the Magpies.
I don't remember any of them having a winge and making veiled threats of leaving the club because one of their play mates chose to spit the dummy and leave due to not being the clubs priority signing and another shown the door to bolster the playing roster.

If Benji is upset about Beau deciding to leave he needs to take the matter up with him not make it public with the intention to hurt the club which ultimately hurts the supporters.Remember them? They are the ones who make it possible for players to get payed. .

What does Benji mean by "You don't support your club solely because they win or lose".Does he think the supporters would truly be happy with the idea of players staying at the club forever no matter what their form was like as long as they are having fun with their mates.

I have been following Wests for 50 years and I agree with Benji in the club drifting away from it's culture. We now have players believing their needs come first.

As for Benji saying "I haven't just lost two teammates; I've lost two of my best mates. That's the hardest part. You spend every day with your teammates and the reality suddenly hits that you'd be lucky to see some of them once a week"

If Benji had the club culture in him from by gone era he might realize that for most of us out here in the real world we would consider ourselves lucky to hang out with our mates once a week.

They are not dead Benji. It's up to you how often you see them or do you need Heigno to organize that for you?

Come on Benji, bring back the clubs past culture, get real and toughen up.

I think that this is a complete load of crap. Benji is a quality player and he has stuck by the Tigers for a long time. We shouldn't judge him on this unless he leaves.

Skando was never the player Benji was.

I don't think what Benji is stating is that bad or puts him in a bad light. He is upset because his friends are leaving the club. To me this shows a couple of things:-

1. He likes the guys who he plays with and supports them.
2. Benji doesn't run the club at all like some of the morons on here have posted in the past.

Thanks for your critique.
Maybe you are right.
I was feeling as confused as Benji when I read in his article.

"I feel that what happened during the week is against the culture of the club. That's why I say I am confused. The players are as confused as the supporters"

and

" Before I signed my latest contract with the club, I was given some guarantees; things I was told were going to happen but which never have. That said, I'm contracted for three more years. I intend to stay. But the club is in a predicament at the moment and I'd like it to be sorted out.
I'm just as passionate about Wests Tigers as our supporters are. And that is why I say all this. I've been there for 10 years. I couldn't picture myself playing for another club. But the culture of a club is important to me. And that is what I love about the club - it has always had such a great culture. I just feel the club is drifting away from that."

I can understand it can be interpreted in many different ways. I truly hope I misunderstood his intentions.:?
