I believe Benji made the top 8 only 3 times at the Tigers and Hayne made the top 8 only 3 times at the Eels, seems like there equally worthless

Hayne as a established first grader come 8th in 2009, the other 2 was as a rookie winger, don't count. He followed 2009 with a 12th, 14th, Last, Last and 12th.

Hahaha Hayne was the reason they made the finals in those rookie seasons as he scored a million tries and won Dally M rookie of the year in 2006 and backed it up with Dally M Winger of the year in 2007,of course it counts.

Ahhh Ivan. That old chestnut. Because it worked so well when you went back to the well once too often with Stacey Jones...

A million likes for this!!! I've got Americans looking at me weird as I just burst out laughing. I'd explain but they throw deliberate forward passes behind obstructions.
Problem is they didn't though, the Storms cheating actually ruined the entire competition as the teams they beat in the lead up to the Grand Final lost their chance to compete for it as they were knocked out by a team that cheated.

We have a spine of Lolohea/Reynolds/Brooks/McIllwrick next season, not a single player there can grab a game by the scruff of the neck and win it for us. Benji does that, will be a good addition to the side, wherever he lines up.

Nope, sorry. Benji pre-union days did that. Since he came back from Union, Benji rarely ever does that at all, especially these days. He nay be a steady as you go player, but he is not the dominant, take the game by the scruff of the neck, make the super match winning play, five eight anymore.

why would any club want him?

Basically a PR exercise for both parties.

Bunji and the club get the feel good "Golden Boy comes home story" on SFA money.

Bunji improves his "brand image" and Cleary gets a mentor for his young half.

He can run onto the field for 3 or 4 games in the year and everyone feels warm and fuzzy.
