Pffftt what would the idiots know. I like our forward pack. They are all starting to hit their straps and will only improve.

I agree. Our pack is right up there with the one that was smashing up well favoured packs like Manly and Souths at the start of 2014.

On any given day our pack can collectively lift and match anyone. Unfortunately they cant do it for months on end nor consistently enough to rate. I thought they lost us a fair share of games last year and are a long way off being a regular force. Having no leader and being short Farah and Matterson, I agree they are towards the bottom of the table as a group.

And I am hoping that Packer can be that player.

I'm hoping but I'm not holding my breath. A silver lining in this though is that if Packer cannot step up, hopefully he will find a new club and we can use his money to sign a Jai Arrow type player.

Fingers crossed we see an article towards the end of next year that Klemmer needs to move back to Sydney for personal reasons

I agree. Our guys need to lift consistently as a pack and do the job this year. There is a lot of talent in that pack in the middle and on the edge. We need a 9 but maybe someone out of Reynolds, Walters, Liddle, Simpkins or Grant will come good.

I feel we now have a good team with the main weakness at 9. It's not a great team but it's better than what we've had in the recent past.

Plus Rowdy in his final season.Nobody deserves a successful swansong encompassing finals footy more than Rowdy.
And Benji...I’d like to see Benji have the backline outside of him this year that he deserves and has been waiting for for a long time ...He can be a bit of a go it alone player sometimes only because there’s no one else able to spark something at that time....but this year Im hoping is different. Let’s see the players outside him show us how good they are but also help show the absolute star quality Benji has even now and as a backline make ALL the other backlines look average even the “best” and then maybe! step up another level with a better backline next year and grab a second premiership ..o man imagine it..for both of them maybe..stranger things have happend like the last one in 2005

I think if Benji can play smarter footy like he did last year and run it a bit more he could do some nice things this year as we have the pack to give him space and two bigger bodies in Doueihi and Leilua on the returns to get the sets rolling.

Benji 2 the distributor hasn’t had a gun team behind him yet ...at St George No Brisbane not really Tigers not yet ...he wouldn’t be too old to be learning new things each year and the complete trust Madge has in him is doing him wonders...He’s actually a very sensitive guy that’s why he took so long to be an effective NZ captain and why he’s better as a kind of 2 IC behind Mbye ..Mbye to do the heavy telling off and Benji to spread his knowledge and lead the team knowing that Mbye has his back..Id love to see a break out year for this team while Bejis still here ..The stars seem to be aligning..just one more semi star prob needed in the forwards and anything’s possible..

Benji last year was his best season since 2010/11 but in a different way. A lot more calm and less cut out pass into row 24

And he wasn’t even meant to be our 1st string five eight (well thats what they say, but he was clearly the best option by a mile). If we’re a chance of top 8 this year he will need to be pretty close to that level again and I’m pretty confident he will. Agree having big bodies like BJ and AD and the forward pack will make his job 10x easier

I read somewhere ..A couple of backs and a forward don’t make a premiership ...I don’t see it like that ...I see it like we’re on the verge ..we already have stars in our team Brooks Benji Corey Cheekham Nofo and I’m sure oothers could be named ..These are bonafide stars and they are why we did pretty well considering our situation last year ...we just needed what we’ve added this year which is a major injection of class and one more forward I think to change the whole Dynamic..I’m expecting big things..

No he wasn’t meant to be. He came so so close to retiring ...I followed him during that period every step of the way since being dumped from st George and before ...It was close ...Cleary let him in really with one phone call .if not he prob would have had no choice but to retire

I’ve watched Benji closely from when he started at the Dragons as Benji 2 and seriously I don’t think he’s changed that much.I was in awe of him there and I thought everyone else was blind...with some of his plays exactly the same as what he’s doing now although I have to admit at the end of last year he did seem to play like he has but without the gaps.....Having watched him for so long Ive always thought he was a tin arse..he seemed to have this magic touch where even if he did a kick that was big and apparently wayward it would turn up trumps like virtually every time like that grubber kick he mis timed and it popped directly up after he mis kicked it he caught it and scored a try... never seen that before and there’s tons of examples like that but more like long range attempted kicks to the in goal that bounce perfect or high kicks that just somehow bounced right or just any kick ..He for a bit there was attempting to invent a kick which was straight into the opposition at speed to at least get a 50/50 chance of retrieving it but with a backline ready to go..He is Marshall magic he tin arsed himself into this team and I’d like to somehow see him tin arse us to a premiership
