Benji's Kicking

Goddam it's horrible. He didnt put in a single decent kick for field position tonight. We really really really need someone to partner him in the halves with a decent boot. Robbie cant be relied upon for every kick. Lui needs to step up & improve his kicking game next week.

Yep, Benji was horrible. Had an off game both with the boot and general play. WT do need to explore other kicking options than Benji but I'm not sure who and whether there is any point seeing as Benji can do no wrong according to Sheens.

I think he has resorted to the head down and hoof the hell out of it style..
Needs to play with his head up..he is better off kicking it hard along the ground or low rather then belting it in mid air.

Early in his career he could do no right and now he is excused for everything.

How can a bloke with so much talent be so inept at kicking? Think of some of the plodders over the years who have managed to survive solely on the back of a decent kicking game.

I just dont think Benji is a natural, thinking kicker. He does it on impulse, like his general play.

He is not a first rate goal kicker, nor is he a good general play kicker. he has his moments where things come off but way too many others where they dont. Magic when it works, horrendous when it doesnt.

Benji's kicking is ridiculous, mainly because he's got an absolutely massive boot on him. But he always gets himself in sh*t positions to kick or tries rubbish kicks. If he took a leaf out of Soward and Lockyer's books and stood well behind the front line to boot the ball then he and the team would be much better off.

His problem isn't his ability to kick, it's his execution. He always chooses stupid positions to put himself in before kicking and dumb times to try and kick long. We would have a very good long kicking game through Benji and Farah if we simply played smart.

Huh??? Did I read that right?? Benji who?? He is one of the best passers i have ever seen... Some of the passes he has pulled of is amazing, not even including the round the back crap...

Benji has been injury free for 2 seasons now. He has 100+ First Grade games under his belt. Performances like tonight I find pretty disheartening from a talented and experienced player. I got to say I think he is having a pretty dissapointing season. Maybe I am being harsh and the expectation is too high. However when I see amature errors in his game that I thought he would of cut out 3 seasons ago i staret to wonder.

Farah is our best player by the length of the Flemington straight. I can see why he gets frustrated playing with Marshall. His game was 3rd rate tonight.

How many of his passes are behind , out in front, or go over the head of the receiver?

He is a also a certainty for at least one forwad pass per game.

Well....i guess he throws a few, but you must admit that there have been a hell of a lot of passes that have been gems with tries resulting.. You cant get every pass on target when you throw that many miracle balls that benji throws.

I find it hard to criticise someone that has so much attention paid to him by the opposition. I know what its like (i have no tickets on myself) to be a star of a team that the opposition goes out to shut down. Its not fun, and can get very frustrating when you have half their team following you.

I dont think i would swap benji with anyone...put it that way.

But i agree...his defence was questionable at best.. He let the 1st try in, and i think a forward ran him over at one stage too... Saffy maybe?? But he did save one try.

If Lui had missed that tackle on the 75kg Darius he would've been excoriated by every Tigers fan.

As Eddie said, it's very concerning that a guy who has played over 100 first grade games can still produce so many elementary errors.

When benji is on he is ON but he is playing sh*t at the moment and has been in this mode all year ,people have got to stop defending him, it needs to be understood by him that he has got to lift his game ,he has got to get his mind on the job .

I think he has got to cut back on his media commitments an come back to earth ,saw him on the footy show the other night giving his sage advice to someone on how to position and inject themselves into the game , I think that being in the form his in at the moment he is the last person who should be giving out advice. (I'm thinking it was carney but correct me if it was another player)

Benji please get your house in order first before handing out advice to others and SNAP OUT OF IT........

Oh yeah he cant kick for sh#t....
