I don't have a problem with bandwagoners, but i don't get this comment:

its been too much of a risk to spend my money on them because there prone to losing to sides like canberra...

do you only enjoy games when they win? would it really be enjoyable if they won every game?

Maybe what JoeD is trying to say is, why pay money to go see them when they're not performing well? I mean, JoeD can always watch the game at home on TV and not have to pay travel, ticket prices and possibly accommodation and get the same results, win OR lose.

quite simply when the warriors peform the crowds come. auckland fans are known for being fickle and jumping on whatever is good at the time. the warriors are a good thing now so naturally more aucklanders etc are going to matches. the crowds in 2004 and 2005 were notably poor and that was reflected by the on field performance of the team where they found it hard to buy a win. look at souths before they were taken over they had shocking crowds too.

it also comes down too what are the alternatives to going and watching a team play each week. in sydney there is plenty of things to do or even another team to go and watch. in auckland there is normally something going on somewhere which competes for league and when the warriors aren't performing these alternatives win out. there are exceptions of course to this like newcastle where they just breathe league and were getting good crowds even though they were runing last and didn't win a game I think for somethig like 13 weeks just a few years back. the other exception to the rule is the storm who even though play well espeically in recent years struggle to get decent crowds week to week.

there will always be bandwagon fans and when league is the good thing more will show up otherwise the alternatives win out every time.

Best banner i have ever seen was at an ODI between Black Caps and England at the Basin. It was after 3 kiwis got done for smoking pot in Africa and Dion Nash was one of them. The banner was

WE SUPPORT NASH COS HE SMOKES HASH

I understand where everyone is coming from with why people turn up. Nobody wants to see a sh*t product, but there are some who stick it out.

The ones i can't stand are the smartarses who scoff at you when you wear a Warriors jersey after a loss, but quickly don their 2002 jersey and barrack like mad for the Warriors when they're winning.

And decide to beat the rush by 20 minutes.

Another great banner was at a Kiwis vs Kangaroos test match, reading...

"The Kiwis Club; No cuties allowed"

They even got it on TV.

I so would have, but it seems there are other funny buggers out there too. It was a top effort and good on the camera person for giving it air time.

Oh. Btw, welcome back, BH. Good to see that you're not hanging around with those losers again. Getting on the winning team, eh.

You mean the 2nd placed team that just got beaten by the 6th placed team???

Na, i mean half the 2nd placed side with half the 12th placed PL side that got beaten by the 6th side ;-)

Well, if the 2nd placed side, gave 1/2 a sh*t about winning the game. They would have forced the missing 29.4% of their 1st side, to play. Maybe then, they would not have been beaten by 22 points.

Was actually 41.17% of their 1st side ;)

Guess that is the beauty of being a good side all year, you can look after yourself while still being competitive in the later rounds

If you want to call a 22 point score line being competitive. Then you and I have a different interpretation of the word "competitive".

What was the score after 60mins ?

I dare say that Warriors fans would be pretty happy if their side hung in against a contender while missing McKinnon, Mannering, Ropati, Price, Luck, Swann, Tuimavavue
