Maloney, meh. The guy is good when his team fires and can on the odd occasion be a match winner. But certainly doesn't lift teams when they are losing... he goes missing. To say the Sharks can win a comp on the back of him is a laugh

1. Foran - eels need a tough nut. Trains his arse off. Super competitor. Future captain. Awesome player that won't tolerate the bludging Parra culture

2. Luke - fantastic player, moving home and will thrive off the kiwi bro mentality. 80 minute hooker and given the kiwis issues with fitness and defensive attitude, they need that.

3. Maloney - sharks go well but just lack class. New halves led by Maloney will really help + Bird shifts to centre (forget the bullshit about him playing fullback). Great signing.

Wasted signings:
1. Merrin. There is so much depth in the panthers back row they don't need him and he doesn't do enough tough stuff to rate as a prop. Never won a game for the dragons. Great for SuperCoach but paid massive overs for a stat merchant.
2. Any team that signs Idris - just a big ball of lard that needs to move into the forwards but isn't tough enough nor fit enough.
3. Any team that signs Farrell

Nathan Green

Tim Moltzen

Dylan Farrell (if anyone really is silly enough to take him off of the Dragons hands)

I'll bite. We lost Brown, Manu, Idris and Docker.
We have Taylor, Cartwright, Merrin, Peachey, Yeo, Smith and Sopoaga. The last two are fringe first graders with plenty of potential. Obviously have some great youngsters as well but I'd say we have the right number. Merrin will play up the middle anyway and we've been weak there for a few years now.

Foran - Eels need structure and a confident leader
Maloney - Sharks need a kicking game and some direction.
RTS - Best fullback in the game, good workload which will benifit team.

Merrin wasn't really needed but is still a great pick up. If panthers can get consistency from their backline they will go well. Idris is an unfortunate loss.

Merrin is a solid player but not worth anywhere near that money. Good on him for getting it but you would hope he plays a lot harder to justify the dollars. He cruised at the Dragons.

Cruised... to 10 origins, a Kangaroos jersey, and a club player of the year award.

Rewriting history is quite a cruise.

Well I think that RTS is the 4th best player in the game behind JT, Big Sam and Smith in that order.

So I'd have to say Roger. He's a marvel and if the Warriors can a) locate their hearts b) find some 3/4s c) stay fit; then they're a genuine chance to make a GF with RTS and Luke on board.

*edit* Oh wait, given that I rate Sam Burgess a close no.2 behind JT (he's the best middle third forward I've ever seen) that'd make him the best buy. Souths have gone from a borderline top 8 side to undoubted Premiership contenders imo. Sam is that good and important to them.

Bit part player at origin, nowhere near the Ozzie team now and maybe won a single man of the match award this year. Never seen him dominate a game. Never seen him win a match. Plays far below his talent. Yep he was cruising.

Joe Burgess at the Roosters will nail a bag full of tries in 2016.

Joe Burgess is likely to be the No 2 winger in the NRL behind Semi Radradra.
