I mean over an extended period. Not just one play where one player times his downward descent (and hence possesses the added power of gravity) at the exact same time that one is beginning his ascent. As the basketball prophet we know as Hubie Brown said, "That was beautifully timed".

Even though Hakeem owned Shaq in their matchups over time, if they had been playing when they were BOTH in their primes (when Shaq had truly come of age) then it would have been a much different story.

I still think Hakeem would be proven to be the better player.

hakeem was a better all round player where as shaq dominated the post.

hakeem for the win.

but i can never forget shaq's first year.

how many rings did he pull down that year?

I just think Hakeem was the more skilled player. He could beat you in so many ways whether it was off the dribble, post up or just dunking it on you not to mention that his footwork was exceptional for a big man. Plus imo he was the better defender of the two.

Plus the Dream shake is probably still my favorite NBA move. Remember seeing an interview with Hakeem where he said it was actually derived from a soccer move.

The one he pulled off on Robinson in the 95 series is awesome stuff.
