Who heard Hogie's Metal Challenge this week on JJJ?

He had to find the fastest metal guitarist.
Bloody hell some of the stuff he played was frightening.

the Bloke from Dream Theatre is a freak ,and if you can "somehow" get your hands on a little guitar thing
done by the guy from Extreme.
It's him doing a solo to a drum click track , the title has bumblebee in it ( it's not flight of the bumblebee) .

Amazing.

The bloke from Dream Theater is John Petrucci and yes he is a freak, as is the drummer Mike Portnoy. Check out Metropolis Part 1 off Images and Words.

The gutarisy from Extreme is Nuno Betterncourt (now married to Suze DeMarchi) and the song is known as Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee but isn't called that on the Pornograffiti album. It's basically just the intro to 'He-Man Woman Hater'. Great song.

Anyway, EVH's solo in Michael Jackson's Beat It is amazing but yeah, Eruption is amazing. I also love the intro to Dirty Movies off Fair Warning. Awesome stuff.

Steve Vai - anything he does is incredible.

And to whoever said Nile - Unas, Slayer of the Gods. GREAT song. A true epic. Karl Sanders sounds sooooo evil in that song. By the way I interviewed Dallas Toler-Wade a few weeks ago (the guitarist). Top bloke.

Indeed she was. Now if they were to reform, that's who I'd want to see at the grand final - I saw the Baby Animals twice and they kicked arse!!

That was me... how crazy is the instrumental break in that track? the way it just builds from the little horn interlude with the military style drum beat and then the whole thing explodes into about a minute and a half of pshychotic soloing... wanky and over the top maybe but damn it's cool.
