Interesting. Inglis is easily my fave player, favourite athlete, one of my favourite hominids ever but what sprang to my mind was more the small evasive fullbacks, barba a clear number 1 followed by bowen and slater.
Dunno who's the best but i know Inglis is definitely up there, and it's one of my favourite things to witness each week at the footy, just watching him push forwards away as if they were wingers and just seeing how he gets past them is insane.
Adam MacDougall before he shifted to the centres and learned how to crab. Still remember a game from a "few years ago" against Parramatta (may have been 2002...) when he was at the height of his powers- the only way he could be stopped on kick returns was by Jason Smith and Daniel Wagon coathangering him.
Both ended up getting suspended for several matches after high tackles in the game.
What is his problem? He has the size, speed and footwork to be a menace on the return and yet just ambles towards the defence. It must kill Parra fans.
