( covell , marshall , hunt , williams , tupou ) who are the future of our games. in 5 years i have no doubts these guys will be the best 5 players in the nrl, if not the world.
you can continue to run a retirement village down at canberra , but up here at cronulla we look for future prospects

Lockyer wouldn't be in the top 30 kickers in the NRL. Newcastles 3 kickers all have a much higher percentage. Some other teams back up kickers are also much better then Lockyer.

Most people wouldn't know this but going into a game in 2003 the dogs had an injury cloud over El masri. A shoot out was arranged between Anasta and Sherwin to determine who would kick if El masri didn't play.

They were giving 24 kicks each from the sideline, 40 metres out, tricky angles and easier ones.

Sherwin kicked 24/24. Anasta kicked 23/24.

Turns out El masri played anyway.

BBSF - You only started watching Covell this year didn't you? I've watched him play for a few years with both Magpies and Tigers and while the bloke would be in the top ten list in the NRL for goal kicking and having the biggest heart he is certainly no superstar in general play. He snags quite a few good trys but I really doubt he'll ever play for NSW. His potential is no where near that of the other young guys you mentioned.

covell is equal to the top as a kicker just behind el masri, but as a player he is close to the best of that list so since hes close to top on both lists he is 1st

Oh well in that case. Definately Hodgson, Hannay, Schifcofske and any other bloody kicker ahead of Covell, the slowest winger in the NRL now that Todd Byrne's moved to centre.

Meanwhile Schifcofske is the highest scorer this year (he is 8 points infront of bbsf's beloved covell) and 2nd to I believe Brett Hodgson in kicking 85% (22 of 26)

i meant that in 5 years time who will schifcofske be and co be, they will be the past.

the 5 most talked about and wanted young guns in the competition right now are marshall, sonny bill, covell , hunt and tupou. in 5 years from now they will all be on at least 400 000, and carrying their countries (thats if covell and tupou get picked in australis stupid selection policy)
