I don't have many Live albums but Jeff Buckley's Live at L'Olympia is great. The thrash metal version of "Eternal Life" kicks ass.

MTV Unplugged - Alice In Chains

Alive in athens - Iced Earth

What is this band like? I saw an 1984 album of theirs in the bargain bin at the local record store.
If it was from 1984 it would be their debut album, "We Have Arrived" which is pretty rough and primitive sounding. However if it happens to be an original edition vinyl pick it up as it's damn rare and colletable in it's original form.
If you want to check out their music I'd be much more inclined to go for either their second or fourth albums "Darkness Descends" and "Time Does Not Heal" both of which are considered to be thrash masterpieces in the saame league as "Reign in Blood" or "Master of Puppets". Their third album, "Leave Scars" is pretty cool too but marred by an utterly shithouse production alhough the recently released re-mastered version miight be better.

Doesn't sound too shabby at all. No it wasn't vinyl. My collection is severley lacking in old-school thrash. I shall investigate Dark Angel, and hope not to get them confused with Death Angel.

Tool's live songs on 'Salival' were magnificent.
Jeff Buckely - Mysetery White Boy
FNM - Live at Brixton Academy
Slayer - Decade of Aggression

Quite easily actually.

I'd rather watch paint dry. Or listen to paint dry. Or watch AND listen to paint dry.

I remember they did a Beatles dedication earlier this year at the Grammys (?) and he was singing with someone and he didn't know the lyrics to the song. What a goose.

As a professional "rock" music performer the Beatles should be fundamental. Hell why not read the lyrics before you go on.

well...my fave live albums would be "live from mars" by ben harper and "i might be wrong" by radiohead but they weren't straight concerts - just highlights from tours...

probably the bootleg of the first Radiohead Sydney show would be my favourite live album at the moment...

I have a bunch of bootlegs coming in the mail this week for bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Mr Bungle, Metallica, Fear Factory. Can't wait.

They're pretty good I have all albums up to "time does not heal" with "Leave scars" being the best IMO. Dont have any of their live albums though.

The Beach Boys in Concert 73-74

They wernt voted Band Of The Year by Rolling Stone in 1974 based on their awsome concerts for nothing.

As Bob Dylan put it - "Their f****n awsome".
