Best of compilations

I honestly can't think of another time when there have been so many big name bands who are releasing "best of" compliations...

Powderfinger, Live, Placebo, Pearl Jam, and the Offspring (apparently).

Must be Christmas soon!

Its a blatant sellout. How can a band like the Living End with 3 studio releases justify a Best Of at this time of their career?

There's even more (admittedly not from big or good bands)
To that list add

Seal
Fugees (with 2 albums)
Robbie Williams
Britney Spears

and my favourite (well she's releasing one according to my sister)

Nikki Webster

There's others I can't think of as well...

A best of deal is normally part of the record deal. The Record Company, can after say three/four albums, have the right to bring out a best of or greatest hits album.

Better to do it when the band isn't around any more, I say. Yes, thank you Smashing Pumpkins. :)

Nikki Webster... best of?

The only song she's ever released was "Strawberry Kisses".

That was just murder on the ear drums.

Living End have had more number hits than Placebo, how they and Korn have a best of album is beyond me. :? Theyre both sh*tt bands.

Powderfinger and Living End's are awesome, get them both theyre worth it.
