Best player to never play at Origin/Test level

Nah pretty much every decent Kiwi who's stayed in the NRL has played at test level. There's a few who went to the UK who never got a test guernsey that were deserving though, Iafeta Paaleaesina is one who springs to mind, was awesome in his last year at the Warriors but went to Wigan before he could earn test honours.

Paleaaesina played for the Kiwis, 3 tests.

It's scandalous that skandalis didn't play origin. :) How blokes like Luke bailey were picked in front of him is a joke! Skando is a prime example (among many others) why city v country is a joke of a game and should not be on the yearly calendar in its current form!

Fairleigh played for both NSW(10 games) and Australia (2 tests)
Fenech 2 origin games
Ella NSW (8 games), Aust. (4 tests)
Taylor was a reserve in two Origin games, I think.

Mateo has been representing tonga at test level for the last 5 or so years!

Bull Bailey is a great front rower, agree re. Skando though, he definitely deserved a go

How exactly is Skando not making NSW at all relevant to City Country's significance?

He was man of the match one year and consistently the best forward on the field every other year but couldn't get a start for the blues, despite nsw going through every other prop in the state.

That and the fact that it is an outdated, meaningless dinasour of a game.

I remember Bailey making a pretty decent go at Origin in his early days especially, pretty sure he picked up a Man of the Match at one stage.

Bailey went pretty good, people write him off since Webb pawned him but I always rated him.

Webb never owned him though, the fat slob came off the bench in an Origin game & tried to monster Bails after he had been on for 20 minutes. Webb is a fat grub

Every man and his dog knows the NSW selectors are useless farkwits.

Skandalis was never awarded MotM in City/Country.

Bailey was actually awarded MotM in Origin & was a damn good player for the Blues. Nobody thought any less of him when Webb won their little battle in '05.

Well i guess Bailey should of stopped the fight and explained to Webb that he had already been on for 20 minutes therefore it was hardly a fair contest:sarcasm:.

Haha but seriously i always thought Bailey was very hardworking prop, did a shitload of work.

I guess you could also throw Todd Carney's name around in this thread for Origin too.

Why? So far he's only proved to be a one season wonder.

recent omissions; James Maloney

past; Paul Taylor,
