Stanley Gene is a legend.
As far as I know I had not heard of him until 1 hour ago, but now I put him forward as exhibit "a" as to how Rugby League does not do enough to promote its own.

Okay, acknowledged. I remember thinking you either made that name up, or it was the name of that guy from the band KISS (Gene Simmons?). Essentially I thought I was the butt of a joke.

WhatsapacketaJohn Okul still lives in the Hull area as does Stanley Gene. I remember Hull KR signing Okul and Gene after the 1995 WC whilst Hull FC signed Marcus Bai. Phil Sigsworth was the Hull coach at the time and he decided Marcus wasn’t good enough and let him go. The rest is history.
