Brian Smith - I watched the late 80's and early 90's and we were doing nothing. We signed the bulldogs 4 and Ron still couldn't get us near the finalks. Then Smith came along and rebuilt the club and we enjoyed 10 years of success ( yes no premiership but we were up there with a chance).

Smith gave the club a professional approach with an expectation of success. With another coach instead of Smith the club may have faced extinction.

Ray Price hands down.

(And yes he played first grAde, just a different code).

Massive part in us becoming a force, and in all 4 of our premierships.

If you exclude him from the poll steve edge would also beat most of the names I've seen thrown up sofar.

Jack Gibson - his influence far outweighs any player or coach we have bought. Same team, same players the year b4 didnt make the semis.

Without him we may not have ever won a comp

Purchases from another club at senior level, pete.

MY ERA - Ken Thornett (Leeds) Brian Hambly (Souths via Wagga) John Quayle, John Peard, Jim Porter (Easts) John Moran (Penrith) Bob Bugden (St George) Leo Toohey (Souths on a 50 pound transfer fee) Ron Boden (after 1959 Kangaroo tour by Jack Argent who was manager atm. It was the first real 'foray' into the player market targetting current stars. Paul Pyers, Ron Lynch, Brian Hambly were in the same 'bunch', Hambly being purchased on a Two thousand five hundred POUND transfer fee..($5000..lot of money in 1960)....

The recruitment of Ken Kearney as coach in 1962 was probably the most significant signing in the history of the Club..
