I didn't make a poll, but Godfather II is my pick as the best sequel ever. French Connection 2 was also very good, though not so well known. Can't think of any others as good as those.

Other honorable mentions are Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade, Waynes World 2, Be Cool, The Empire Strikes Back & Return of the Jedi (If you count them as sequels),

I agree. The other movies mentioned here are not in a the same class. But that reflects the age and taste of the forummers.

The Two Jakes comes to mind as a pretty good sequel to the classic Chinatown.

Are you all missing the Aliens post?!?

And mainly because I like boxing and how old I was at the time but the Rocky movies 1, 2 and 3 had an appeal. His first 2 fights with Apollo Creed and then his fight against B.A. Baracus aka Clubber Lang aka Mr. T

Please do not let this detract from the Aliens suggestion (they are pretty shocking in hindsight), I was 10 at the time loved fighting and the A-Team kicked ar*e!

Diehard 2, was better than 3. Wasnt 3 called Diehard with a Vengence, also staring Samuel L Jackson.

I like Diehard 2, but Ive already seen a thousand times cause its always on foxtel.
