Best singer/songwriters

Vote for your favourite singer/songwriter of the 70s. This is the era and genre that I think produced the best music ever. I know many here are too young for this, and/or won't like this kind of music, but for those who do let's hear your comments. Including anyone you think I've forgotten.

I'd vote for Elton John, only for his first 5 or 6 albums. After Yellow Brick Road he went downhill. But what an amazing output of good songs up to that point.

Some very well known songs there.

My choice would be Ronnie James Dio though ....on voice alone he is unmatched.

I only put my own favourites on the list. Sorry, I haven't heard of Buckley or Rio.
