Best Win Since Melbourne 2008

I think it would be fairly uncontroversal to say the best win the Warriors have had in the last few years was that last minute win against Melbourne in the 2008 final series. That was just pure theatre and completely unexpected.

I watched Saints v Penrith last week and thought, they have Lewis and Petro and Jennings to come back. We are gunna get slaughtered. I was picking Penrith to be the premiers after that game.

But was this win against Penrith the best warriors win since that Melbourne game? When we were unexpectedly 12 points up, I still had memories of the 32 point comeback draw. When the penalty count mounted, I thought for all money there was no way we could hold. But hold they did.

How many last ditch try savers were there? Lui Matalino, is that his best game? Ta'ai, as well? Lewis Brown for player of the year?

Isaac John, if he is fit, why would they bring Seymour back? He was a little bit quiet last week, but he has been the goods. Confidence goes a long way in Rugby League. Surely these boys are starting to get a bit?

I agree with a lot of what you said there, mate. Epic performance. Seymour edges John at this stage, he's a really well controlled footballer, but gee... the more Isaac plays, the more I'm impressed with the kid.

no way mate, Issac is hot, Seymour is not...

Seymour was in good form for us.

Not that stats can tell you everything... but

In 4 games, Seymour has 5 try assists. In 5 games, Isaac has 3.

I wonder whether this is going to be a problem at any rate, Isaac limped off with injury against Penrith. It's been that kind of season, its been one of those seasons though we'll look back on with fondness I suspect because a lot of blokes have stood up when they've had to come up a grade, or, been asked to take on a more senior role. I don't think too many of us suspected that Isaac could be a realistic long term halves option, the bloke could barely kick the ball accurately in the U20s, but his rate of improvement in particular is astonishing and he should be extremely proud of what he's achieved. I can't give the kid any bigger wrap, but, Seymour is a very accurate footballer and puts the acid on the forward to keep their shape.

I'm probably foolish for saying this but I'm getting mad 2002 vibes. Mainly because of the years big controversy. The last big story of this kind was 2002 when the Bulldogs lost all their points and we all know where we ended up at the end of the season.

The last minute victory against the Roosters is right up there too I reckon.

That felt a lot more like the Melbourne win, due to the last minute win.
I know games are won on defence, but it yesterday was our "best" win, I hope we have better as we still made a lot of silly mistakes, gave away plenty of penalties (I know over half not justified).
Our best defensive game, well in short history I cant remember a game like it, when the opposition had so much ball, and also so much in our 20m zone.
So would say our best defensive game ever.
