Austin was a way, way, way better face than The Rock. When The Rock did something bad to turn heel, the crowd hated him. When Austin tried to do something to turn heel, most of the time the crowd didn't give a shit.

Yep, plus The Rock started to get the crowd behind him when Austin was goooone (run over ). Austin was getting the crowd when both man were active.

#-o . We hated HHH!! Because he had the Title for a long time, and never wanted to give the younger guys a chance. Angle Best face #-o He was a much better Heel then Face, and Best face would go to Rock/Austin.

Sorry to bring up a dead thread but I couldn't agree more. For starters, I reckon The Rock was a better face simply because I liked him more, I never got Austin at all, he sucked.

But strictly in terms of popularity and excitement and crowd reaction, I still go Rock. I watched wrestling intently during the heyday of Austin and The Rock, and will maintain until my dieing day that the best crowd reactions and most exciting and interesting times were when The Rock was a face and the crowd reacted to everything he did, when they went nuts for all his sayings, The Peoples Elbow etc. Miles better than anything old fatty Austin could ever do. The Rock is and was an international superstar, Austin has nothing on him.

The Rock was wasted as a heel. He should've had the title all that time old man Austin did.

The HHH of the last two years - yes.

But the HHH of late '99-01 was easily the best heel I've ever seen. During that time Rock, Mick Foley and perhaps Austin all had arguably their most succesful period, and it was largely thanks to HHH being the ultimate heel.

I'll tell you what I reckon Randy Orton will be one of the biggest superstars the wwe has ever had. He carries himself with so much confidence and has a good gimick going on, eventually he should turn face to have a run at the belt but not in the short term future. He has really grown on me in the last few weeks.

Randy Orton will be the next big thing. He has the full package, he can be a good face and can be one of the best heels in the company. He has a great finisher and has the background ( 3rd generation superstar ).
